Shameless Blog Exploitation

Hey gang,

As you may or may not know, Attempting to acquire the entire vintage (88-98) playmates catalog of toys has been a feverish passion of mine for the last 7 years or so…

As of this week, I am down to needing 3 items, so I am reluctantly using the power of the Green Machine to help me lay this thing to rest once and for all.

I am looking for the Don, Leo, and Raph, Ninja Practice Pals. They are stuffed pillow-esque items, similar to the old WWF Wrestling buddies. Here is what they look like:

I am offering $100 dollars for each of the 3 dolls in reasonable condition (they dont have to be perfect). Why am I paying so much? Because once I have these, I will have every single product that Playmates produced for the US market from 1988-1998.

Normally I wouldn’t shamelessly pimp my own agenda on GGM, but you can imagine how important this is to me.

if you have any of the dolls in question, you can contact me at Stephan@Gogreenmachine.org

  1. How many pieces total are there that you have collected? That is one amazing feat… Great job and I hope you finally finish off the collection… What’s next after that?

  2. Well, In total, my entire TMNT collection is well over 2000 (which isn’t really that big considering I only collect toys, comics, art, and exceedingly rare items), but the vintage collection? hrm… I’d probably guess between 600-800. I dont think I’ve ever counted. maybe I will!

  3. Stephan, Good Luck on your search for those last elusive items.

Unfortunately, I am still bummed that most of your action figures collection is relatively “incomplete” because of the missing accessories and weapons associated with the figures.

But, still an impressive accomplishment. I only have 25 more figures to go!

  4. @Chris:

I see where youre coming from. However I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder. As this is a personal collection, I find no worth in accessories (unless they attach as part of the figure, i.e. belts, backpacks, and whatnot), and find them really superfluous, especially with how many were thoughtlessly reused for a JILLION different figures.

To tell you the truth, i had most of the accessories at one time in a box, but I sold them all off cause I really didn’t care about them.
