Quick Movie Update

I know a few people have been wondering what the Nick buyout means for the previously announced, much anticipated movie produced by Scott Mednick and Galen Walker.

John Fusco should have a script ready by the end of this month, based on the Mirage treatment given approval in September.

Scott and Galen are still moving down their original path (awesome!) and the release date has simply been pushed back a year.

HOWEVER…

Given that the Ninja Turtles are now owned by a studio (Paramount), there is a possibility that Paramount could make some directional changes, depending on what their plans for the TMNT are, but as of now, everything remains the same.

Full Circle Part 1

It’s always cool seeing dudes you create come back, and seeing how other people handle them. Something I’m a big fan of in comics, and a big fan of doing in my own comics, is yanking the little things out of obscurity and using them again. Admittedly, this was something I had sort of planned WAAAY back when #59 was supposed to come out around #40… anyway, take a look!

Remember this dude? This is from the very first page of my first TMNT comic… (art by Paul Harmon)

Here he is again! He’s the main thrust behind the events of Tales of the TMNT #61… (art by Andres Ponce)

Newsarama digs Tales #56!

A new review for Tales of the TMNT #56 just went up over at Newsarama. Here’s a taster, so be sure to head over and have a look and comment and all that business!

…All in all, it’s a pretty interesting tack to take with the character, giving the turtles an enemy to fight in a conflict hat’s quite personal, but only because of their friendship/familial relationship with Casey and April. And, his size and maybe strength aside, Hun is a more realistic sort of villain that most of the recurring ones these heroes have tangled with…
