I kinda liked the Music Shredder and Foot Soldier, but yeah the Turtles were lame. Than again with Playmates track record, we would have probably never seen the Shredder and Foot anyway. Villains always seem to be scrapped in favor of endless waves of Turtles with noone to tangle with.

Wow, I’m somewhat shocked at all the disgusted reactions to this news. To me, this is bitter-sweet at worst. On one hand, I would have liked to see the Mirage Universe line from Playmates, simply because it would have been something new and different from them. On the other hand, come on, people – they look AWFUL. NECA came and crapped all over anything Playmates has been putting out, so honestly, I’m kind of relieved that I don’t have to make the decision on my own as to wether or not to shell out money on more mediocre Playmates figures.

And am I the only one seeing the beautiful aspect of this? NO DREADED MUSIC FIGURES! That alone is cause for a “shellebration.”

This is not completely playmates fault. In reality, the Ninja Turtles are once again loosing popularity for now. That is why I think this whole 25th Anniversary business and the re-release of vintage style figures is silly. It’s a shellebration…now put all your turtle figures on clearance because no one is buying them! The fact is, Playmates would probably loose money by releasing the Mirage inspired figures. Sure collectors may bite, but my bet is kids are not buying Turtles like they were 5 years ago.

Man! That is it… I am now OFFICIALLY DISGUSTED with Playmates. They have a good product with the Mirage figures. They show them off, get our interests aroused, then pull them out from under our feet! It is almost embarassing to be a TMNT action figures collector nowadays!
GOD BLESS the great folks over at HASBRO! They at least know what the hell they are doing! Playmates, you suck. Hasbro is consistently giving collectors great product, and with the collectors in mind!
