–>> Very roughly 8″ scale; Art Asylum’s sculpt of these fully functioning coin banks is darn near dead on T.V. show accurate; paint and all. Each bank is semi-articulated allowing for a limited range of posability on your shelf or wherever the bank is displayed, keep in mind that certain poses may tip the balance of the bank and will not work.
The elbow structure and weapon positions need to be placed to offer support to the bank. You should be able to position the bank in a cool n’ fun pose without it tipping over, you’ll just have to play with the arms and poses ’til you find something that works to your choosing.
Weapons are of a decent, tho in Leo’s katana case — the plastic is a bit flimsy. Each bank needs a small amount of assembly to put the weapons in the Turtle’s hands correctly. Mike’s nunchuckus have a real chain.
One can definitely see this being a fun change savings device for kids but again it is not necessarily a toy. Parents should prolly use some discretion if getting this for their children, especially if the little savers are very young. These are defiantly awesome pieces for the bigger kids & TMNT fans to save their pennies in the tradition of high quality standards of Art Asylum and DST.
“The Ninja Turtles are still raising shell! Twenty-five years after their debut, the TMNT are as popular as ever, and this 8-inch vinyl bank depicts team leader Leonardo in full action mode, wielding a pair of katana swords. Insert coins through the slot in his back! A Diamond Select Toys release. Designed by Art Asylum!”

Cockroach Terminator Mutated Spyroach. Meet the biggest and toughest insect ever! Cockroach Terminator was once Donnie’s little spy before falling into a container of Mutagen Ooze and mutating into an unstoppable monster. He is ready to destroy anything that crosses his way, including the Turtles! Anyone who pesters this insect should be ready to get stung!
..minor variation on the newer card insert, including instructions on attaching the “antenna” piece into Roach’s head. This insert is from the original release. The browner tones on the body and carapace seem a little darker as well. His one “Good eye” seems to be painted in a lighter black. The cylindrical metal component on his shell on this re-issue has NOT been painted silver as on the original release for some reason. I suppose you could always paint it yourself.
These paint touch-ups really make Roach look a little better. I’m trying to break it down here for ya best i can to help you decide; if you think it’s worth a re-purchase of the guy for the new colouring. or just to have a variant MOC to save.
Not a perfect toy, but i am fond of the little guy.. and while scale issues plague so much of this line, C.T. here is really not one of them effected. He pretty much is to scale of the Teen figures like he was on the show last season.
.Blade on top is with the new release, lower blade with spot on handle is the older release blade.

Flickr user **REAL SLASH has clipped from somewhere a packaged, on card image of the Movie figure of “RAPH IN DISGUISE”. I’m taking that to mean that he’s part of a Movie wave 1.2. He’ll prolly be released with April. No idea when. The Movie toys are very sporadically popping up ( ..mostly at TARGET stores it seems) or online auctions.
South of Denver Tokka has not seen ANYTHING just yet as far as the Nick Cartoon SLASH wave or the Movie figs. That will prolly change soon. Hey, i usually post my personal TMNT findings on when i’m out and about on my **Instagram and on my ***TwitterAccount via twitpic. *Note, i don’t have time for more separate social media accounts than what i already have set up. You are welcome to follow me on any of them, but be warned they are PG-13 at best and sometimes i am brutally honest about issues i face. If you are very easily offended, you may wish to think twice before following.
–>> Zippin’ back from Tokka’s injury earlier this month. Memorial Day weekend is a great time to kick off the GGM Summer Season and for Tokka to play catch-up to the GREEN TEAM TOY news and a special look at the TMNT inspired Disney Vinylmation Zooper Hero – ZIPPY the Rocket Turtle !!

Getting back to vinyl toys – t his third quarter of the year and into the fall we’re getting hit with more Vinyl TURTLE TOYS than you can shake a PVC pipe at !! Starting NOW with three major companies producing or continuing popular lines of brand NEW figs re-envisioning the classic Cartoon Teens and their friends/enemies from the Mirage books in highly stylized plastic forms !! !!
The new Bebop and Rocksteady designs as confirmed by a slip on the Playmates website (now taken down). Looking good! Thanks to Steve Minar for informing me.
..and the following courtesy of Jon J. :: “Playmates Toys: Wave 10: Robotic Foot Soldier,Tiger Claw,Bebop, and Rocksteady… Wave 12:Baxter Fly Undetermined Releases: Karai, Mutant Wasp, Pizza Face, Chrome Dome”
–>> Minor, touch-ups and vintage add-ons to match the prototypes OF THE CLASSICS ‘BOP & ROCKY a little bit better & enhance the figures. For some reason, i only painted one side of each of ‘circles & stripes’ on each of Bebop’s shoes. I may go back and change that later.
Added to the customization : the ORIGINAL 1988 Rocksteady Manhole Cover Shield accessory, touched-up ..works relatively well with the Classics Rocky.
Minor tough-ups on grenade pin, and light-metallic on boots. Really small details.
The metallic touch-ups on ROCKY’s vintage ’88 Manhole Cover Shield look adequate.
Touch-ups on ROCKY & Bebop’s display bases. Originally it was just a one-toned grey colour. The Turtle’s Classics bases at least had a light wash – ‘Bop and Rock’s didn’t – – so i changed it.
Gentle silver high-lights in hardened punk sunglasses eyelets, sparkling violet Mohawk. Studs on bracelets painted.
The ORIGINAL Bebop ’88 Knife works great with the CLASSICS Bebop.
