Following up on ** Nacho’s TMNT Latin America report on MUCKMAN being an AMAZON EXCLUSIVE, i was able to reach out to Aubrie at **Playmates finally and get the REAL info on what the heck is going on with releases like Muckman and all the other confusing supposed “cancellations” some fans seem to fly off the handle with and upset everyone about..

– [ in regards to Mix and Match Leatherhead, ect. ] Our Mix N Match figures are currently on HOLD so that we can push new TV characters from the show on Nickelodeon, which is in Season 4. – MEANING THE LINE AND LEATHERHEAD ARE NOT CANCELLED, just on hiatus..~ t

– [ in regards to Half Shell Heroes Rahzar & Roach, and possible Kriby, Mutagen Man, and hopefully Karai ] The HSH Rahzar and Cockroach is shipping and should be hitting shelves at major retailers mid-February.

– [ in regards to the Basic Triceraton, looks like we may ONLY be getting Mozar — maybe this wiull change but for now ] The “Basic Triceraton” is Mozar. He was an Exclusive to Walmart in the month of December, stopped shipping for January and will be hitting shelves in all major retailers now.

– [ Dream Beaver DIRE ] Dire Beaver and Dark Beaver should be hitting shelves in June at all major retailers.

– [ TMNT sidekick 3-pack – perhaps a restructuring of distribution is in order for this one.. ] The Icecream Kitty, Cluckingsworth and Spike Turtle 3 pack was removed from Target’s website and we are no longer moving forward with it.

– [ MUCKMAN ] Muckman is set to be released in 2017.

– [ KRAANG PRIME, this was never promised for release – only his prototype was released ] We are no longer moving forward with the KRAANG PRIME.

..keep in mind things ALWAYS change in this business, and Nickelodeon & Playmates are constantly in a state of flux with these decisions. Fan input is important, and speculation run amok isn’t going to help anyone. If you are really concerned about your favourite release being cancelled – – it’s best to be calm, polite, respectful, patient and direct with your concerns and go straight to the horse’s mouth to get the answers you need. I’ll keep you posted as i learn more.

In spite of the big name “NERD Sites” & the countless Turtle fan site that pop-up like weeds; GGM continues to stand the test of time with the unique content, contacts and relentless perseverance within’ this challenging Franchise so many young and old cherish. There’s arguably something to said here and attested too. But for now – your ol’ Snapper pal here better cut it short and get to part 2 of out 8 part LEO History 8-pack. I take a bit of pride in working hard on building a 1-of-a kind , non-biased and friendly voice within’ the Community. I’m glad it’s appreciated. Copyright info has been updated and moved from Leo’s back shell on the vintage toy to his lower left foot. What a great repro in this set. Varner’s original LEO sculpt has been reissued countless times here, and proves it’s strength and versatility in this interesting Playmates release.

–>> Now that the major Holiday Hurricane is marginally over, least the worst of it is – – as we CAREEN towards 2016, perhaps Santa left you this BIG GUY of a display piece as a memento of 2015 & a sampling of Leo figures of recent of Playmates’ days of yore.

The TRU Leo set is based on the original “History – ” display at the PLAYMATES offices in California. The 2007 Movie Leo toy is in this original display piece, as well as the unreleased 2010 COMIC Book Leo based off the Michael Dooney MIRAGE style.

Due to the massive undertaking on breaking down this piece we’ll compliment it by posting the trusted Pixel Dan E.’s review of the entire piece, then one by one break down and compare the reproduction figures in the set with original carded vintage & recent versions – one post at a time. This is a decent set, but modifications were made partly due to stabilization for the purpose of semi-mass manufacturing a retail piece based on an original IN-OFFICE Playmates model. Originally conceived presumably in 2009, this model I believe is featured lightly in 2014’s “TURTLE POWER” documentary. But the Turtle’s licensing and multimedia world has changed dramatically, and even exploded since the franchise changed hands in 2009. The TRU model reflects these changes, — thus – — –

Not 100% sure but these are possibly the among the first illustrations i started drawing of these particular characters post my accident in 1999 where my signature style really started to change and develop into what it is now.
