As of 9:30pm on the Mirage Studios Twitter, it has been announced that the multi-part finale of the Archies comic series “Forever War” has officially been cancelled.

I’m not with Archie….:(
If they’ve got permission to publish 18 TMNT comics a year, why can’t this be on their production slate? I mean, they’ve got the option. They’ve got the material. Why let it go to waste?
I was looking forward to this more than any comic on the slate. Mirage or otherwise. How very disappointing.
There are no words for how livid I am about this. This is the one thing I was really, really looking forward to (other than the possibility of having the entire Mirage TMNT in collected books- and of course, that was also dashed).
As has been mentioned- there are 18 issues a year that can be published. Supposedly this was going to be out this year or next. How in the sam scratch is this NOT on the slate? Just… God, I am so pissed about this.
Becuase the caveat allows them to publish “Mirage” stories. This is the finale to the Archie material, which would mean that it can’t be part of the 18. It was also supposedly meant to be out in 2007, and this past August.
I asked via Facebook and this was my reply from Mirage: “The caveat means Peter can only publish stories from the Mirage Universe. Archie being Archie means no, unfortunately. Tales will continue until May next year, ending at #70.”
I went ahead and asked why they were axing TALES, given the fact that it’s core Mirage universe, but have received no answer as of yet. They’re really nice guys over there, though, so we’re bound to get some kind of answer.
In a way to thanks the fans for all their support during all this years, people at mirage -or should i say him at mirage- should have asked for a special law that allows mirage and other companies to continue with their projects…
Come on I was a big fan of this comic in the day. I always did like where the comic went. Come on people stop fighting over the rights an publish it ok .
WOW i was wondering what had happened to this well now i have my answer but man to be fair every comic book store in my CITY we have 10 did not stock the Future Tense graphic novel nor did i find it in any bookstore i was X-mas shopping in another city and decided to go to a comic shop whil i was there when i found future tense. this is a total bummer and puts further dampening on the sale to Nick
How unreal I REALLY HOPE mirage gets this comic out I pray every night that we still have our comics after may of 2010 the future tense book was a good comic I mean what other comic has 4 great turtles and a pooping in the litter box cat I love my tmnt comics so every body out there keep on buying the comics if you have not started now is the time regardless of what may be going on with every thing.and oh stop hating on nick because I really don’t think mirage would sell them to someone who is not going to do something big with it.lets just all hope think positive.

Not really. Some mummbling here and there about possible fan projects, but nothing evolved enough to share.
I heard a rumor the writer went nuts. I’d be more than happy to help salvage the project, I’d even ink for free.
