In an inpromptu chat this morning with Forever War writer (and all around awesome guy) Steve Murphy, GGM was told that the long time Mirage writer has scrapped his first approach to his upcomming “Archie” swan song, The Forever War, and is coming at it from a whole new angle!
Steve’s Words:
“It seems to be back on track. I’ve scrapped everything to date and started with an entirely new approach.”
“It will probably move the date out… but then again it might not. Very hard for me to say.”
I don’t know about you, but even if it does move the date out, I’d rather he have something he is really happy with!

Ok, so I’m a little irked, but if Murphy’s happy we’ll get a good product so I’ll just have to wait patiently…as hard as that is for me.
I hate to hear this, but if he wasn’t happy with it, then so be it. If it wasn’t up to par with the Big Kahuna of the Archies Universe, then he made the right choice.
I’m also very curious about his scrapped approach. Will it ever come to light, or has it been sent to the shredder for all eternity?
Something tells me he’s entertaining the “kill em’ all!” approach. 🙂
Then again…
Maybe it was all a Michelangelo dream? 🙂
poop and pee 🙁
Nice; props to Murph for putting his all into this. I’d love to see a synopsis page included with the Forever War that depicts the original angle he was coming at this with, and perhaps the thought process that lead to the evolution of the story.
