–>> Vet TINY TOONS ADVENTURES, The TICK, TMNT ADVENTURES comic illustrator & creator of imitable indies; Panda Khan and Shadow of the West; ** DAVE GARCIA worked extra hard on a special piece for Tokka as a reward ..
–>> Before there was General Aguila there was The Shredder. But before Kevin Michael Richardson became the intimidating voice of Saki in Nickelodeon’s TMNT T.V. iteration .. he was themonolithic voice of the evil Aguila in 2007’s “TMNT” film.
Tokka’s original, modified General Aguila figure from the TMNT movie line & the strongest & favourite of the Generals’ sculpts.
Kevin Michael Richardson signed this at SDCC 2012. Apparently he was even unaware of the figure’s existence !!
The figure is also signed by controversial comic writer and ling-time TMNT fan Andrew Modeen who also served as consultant on the film.
Aside from the excitement drummed up by the new show this year.. there was much talk, speculation, and even a little controversy on the release of **FLüD’s new TMNT designs premiering for the label exclusively at SDCC 2012 in the NICKELODEON BOOTH store !!
The TMNT enter a whole new landscape of designer & urban art, for the very first time on an official level – thanks to FLüD & starting off with the legendary **Ron English. This is just the beginning.
Tokka had the privilege to work for Ron during the Easter Holiday season of 2010 locally on the “Santa Christ” project with the Electric Illuminati.
It is truly amazing the sheer amount of stuff that’s flying at us now in terms of the new series, the events at this years SDCC… I am getting more and more excited with what the creative team has come up with for the turtles. The difference between the preliminary animation we saw a few months back compared to now is mind-blowing, and all the little touches… the white ‘mirage eyes’ in battle, the textures of the bandaging on their hands. Even the little facial twitches and breathing movements. There’s such an incredible amount of work put into all of this. This could really rev up the fandom and bring in some new blood. 🙂
More announcements about the September premiere <– Update: Apparently, per Jason Biggs on the 4G coverage on Friday, this is going to be a one HOUR premiere!
Training Showdown <– Fantastic Choreography. It’s serious battle, and not just slapstick-y kinda 3-Stooge-Fu… and no one turtle is overpowering the others.
