**Danzig Goes Into the Studio, Has Lyrics Illustrated
Working even harder at erasing the memory of Danzig V: Blackacidevil — yes, we know that was, like, 13 years ago but it still hurts — singer Glen Danzig has posted on his official website that he has entered the studio. This album will be the follow-up to 2004’s nominally-better Circle Of Snakes and should be released by year’s end. It will feature drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative) and Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), marking Kelly’s recorded debut with Danzig despite being in the band for years.
The only real statement Danzig has made about the album though is in reference to one particular song, “Long Dark Road,” which he reveals is “very creepy and echo-y. It’s like an old ’50s-ish kind of song. I’ve been having it in my head probably for about six, seven, eight years. I haven’t gotten around to recording it and I recorded it, so it’s pretty cool.”
In the meantime, we may sate ourselves with a new book collaboration by Danzig and his favourite artist Simon Bisley. Due out within the next few months, the release is a compilation of lyrics to every Misfits, Samhain and Danzig track with original illustration hand-painted representations by Bisley. Anyone with even a fleeting acquantance with Bisely has surely seen his work, be it on previous Danzig albums such as 6:66 Satan’s Child and The Lost Tracks Of Danzig, or his comic book work featured in classic issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman and Judge Dredd.
