“Check out this HISTORIC 1984 Eastman and Laird Full Team Turtle Pinup from the VERY FIRST YEAR of this CLASSIC RUN, by the great Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird! This may even predate TMNT #1!The Turtles are in their classic apartment eating pizza and drinking beer, while watching TV and talking about what channel to watch! Very funny references to Love Boat, Hill Street Blues, the People’s Court, the Flying Nun, and the A-Team are all part of this funny pinup! Art is drawn on an 8 by 11 inch manilla paper! Marker is slightly fading but everything is in good shape otherwise on this beautiful 28 year old pinup! Just an amazing, EARLY Turtles pinup which is signed and dated in 1984 by both artists!”
” – Save the Earth from Berserko, Bebop, Rocksteady and their band of cyber soldiers!
– Play as your favorite Turtle in five stages of awesome Ninja fighting action!
– Step up to the challenge and meet Berserko and his “Annihilator”
– Attack vehicle in the final stage!
The evil Drakkus has changed his name to Berserko and is out to get his revenge on our “heroes in the half-shell” by destroying the Earth!
Not a chance! These Turtles have an attitude! Cleaver, cooler and edgier than ever, they’re ready to kick some butt!
Use your Ninja moves and special weapons to put Berserko, Bebop and Rocksteady in their place! Power up on some pizza when you grab a bite!
Best of all, you get to hear the awesome voices of your favorite dudes while you play! Cowabunga!
– Cool Dude ! You can choose the Turtle of your choice to battle the bad guys!
– Awesome! Pizza slices appear on screen – you have to scarf ’em up to replenish your energy!
– Whoa! Watch out for Bebop and Rocksteady, they’re some dangerous dudes! Show ’em some attitude with a Ninja kick or use your Ninja Fighting weapon! “
–>> Another complex set of sprites, of coarse the Teens all share the same main walking and jumping sprite with the exception of the character select and winning animation & variations in weapons.
Pretty straight forward play. Beat up & fend off Rocksteady n’ Bebop and the Cyber-Soldiers, diffuse bombs at the end of the levels ( well ..slashing them ) ..then blow up Berserko and his Annihilator Tank at the very end.
A mix up in the manual has Don listed as Mikey & vice verca, A mistake in-game has Raphael using the nunchucks and Mikey using the sai.
A noisy but funky little game. i do like the somewhat monotonous & repetitive voice work & weird modification of the RED-Sky TMNT theme that was the intro to the final seasons of the show.
Deviating from the “Shredder” themes of the prior Konami handhelds of years prior.. Tiger’s first TMNT handheld focus’s of the ambitions of Drakkus a.k.a. Berserko. The interesting choice for the lead of the villain line-up as you may know was the deranged and villainous designer of the TECHNODROME.
Seeking revenge on Krang for leaving him for dead.. in the initial episode of the “Red-Sky” eps of the classic Turtles show, a hostage Krang reluctantly helps Berserko finalize his his evil super weapon, the Annihilator for his own ambitions to conquer earth.
A bending of that plot seems to be present in the game.
The Cyber-soldiers clearly are not the robots form the episode that served out Berserko’s every command but the Foot Clan’s traditional “Foot Bots” Foot Soldiers. And Bebop and Rocksteady are suddenly out of nowhere are also taking orders from the vengeful alien.
The Annihilator is scaled down from large tank shown in the show and Drakkus is popping pit of the top spouting the same one liner each time he fires at the guys in the last battle.
Perhaps after his one and only appearance ( & defeat ) on the original cartoon, Berserko on went berserk once again.. rebuilt a modified and smaller version of the Annihilator, stole a small legion of Foot Soldiers and reprogrammed them to serve him. Bebop & Rocksteady ..having finally been fired for their incompetence by Krang n’ Shredder so they went to Drakkus to look for a job in cuz there was no place else that would hire the boobs in this chaotic economy. All this silliness in his last-ditch campaign of vengeance against the Turtles.
Ok, well maybe not.. but that scenario sounded kinda kinda plausible.
–>> The LCD display has a complex dynamic with the same graphics shared by different characters & different moments of attack and movement during any moment of game-play ( like most LCD handhelds ).
Shredder, Dragon Lord, the Foot & Rank Soldiers, Venus, & the Turtles share the same graphic with slight alterations to the graphic depending on which character you choose, who you are fighting, and what is happening during play.
Only the obstacles, power-ups, weapons, bikes, Hummer ( The Mutant Marauder ), Splinter, Bonesteel, city, and portal are specific to certain levels.
Rotating between side-scroller levels and the Hummer driving levels.. the programing on the little device is pretty complex when you think about it.
And actually, the noisy little game itself is $%@#’n hard ! !
