Shout! Factory has signed a multiyear deal with Saban Entertainment, it allows Shout! exclusive DVD release rights for Saban shows. It is mainly for all 700+ episodes of Power Rangers, but also includes TMNT the Next Mutation. As of right now this could be Shouts! first TMNT release. There is a possibility that Shout! could also release the 2K3 series down the road. No release date is known at this time for NM, but could be out some time this year.
When was it confirmed that they plan to release it? O_o
Wait…they have the rights to the 4Kids series, too? Or are we proceeding on the assumption they do because Shout releases older Nick properties?
They announced it on March 12th. I am not sure 100% if they have the rights to the 2K3 series, however given that Nick owns the rights to TMNT I wouldn’t doubt that it is possible. I sent a tweet to Brian Ward producer at Shout! Factory said: Mikey:Do you think there is a chance of seeing Shout release the 2K3 TMNT series. Brian Ward: Sure. There’s always a chance. I’m often pleasantly surprised by what we announce.
Now I’m not sure if he thought the 2K3 series was Next Mutation as that announcement was not to far away from being official. I guess we will have to wait and see. If shout does release 2K3 it will be epic. They will do a much better job that the previous releases and take away that damn TV rating that they never bothered to take out. Man that was annoying.
