So We endevour to post the bad with the good…and this…isn’t so good.
So a week or two ago, Mirage had said hey had upwards of 800 more copies of the Volume 1 collected book in stock. We covered it here.
Well, I of course ordered a copy, but a day or two ago, recieved a refund notification from paypal. Wondering what was up, I went to the Mirage webste and saw this:
Some extremely bad news today – we just found out that the vast majority of extra copies of “TMNT Collected Book Volume One” that the printer told us they had in their warehouse don’t actually exist – thus we’re going to have to send out refunds to most of you that ordered the book from this site over the past few weeks.
We sincerely apologize for this. I know that doesn’t make amends – but sadly that’s all we can offer.
In hindsight, we definitely shouldn’t have been selling the books until we had them on hand, but unfortunately we thought the information that we got from the printer was correct, which it sadly was not. We were excited when they told us they still had copies in storage because we knew many of you were looking for the book, so we wanted to do something that would make people happy. Woefully our enthusiasm to create some goodwill has only exasperated the problem.
As it tragically turns out, our rep from the printer was using a warehouse inventory sheet that hadn’t been updated since August – thus when the shipment arrived yesterday, it only contained a handful of copies of the book, not even 3% of what we were quoted. Again – our sincere apologies to everyone who ordered a copy and won’t be receiving it. Katie will be sending refunds via Paypal.
So it seems Mirage was selling the books they thought they had before they were in hand. If you haven’t recieved shipping confirmation for your book yet, chances are you won’t be getting it. Sorry guys!
If you follow Pete’s blog, you’ll know that he has been talking about selling the fugitoid figures that he used as christmas tree ornaments for a couple days now. Well, if you are one of the folk who are interested in picking up one of these “relics”, you can head on over to the Mirage Licensing website and pick one up. They are $25 each (including shipping) and have a special label that Peter has signed. There are only 50 of them (49…cause I just bought one, hehe) so if you want one, I’d hurry. Click the pic to order.
Peter recently posted on his blog about an interview he did recently for a TV show called “Making It Here” which is a publicly funded local show in MA. While there isn’t any terribly new information for most of your turtle elite, it is kinda nice to actually see him saying some of the things he has been putting in his blog (particularly regarding the buyout).
Click the Pic to go to Pete’s Blog post about it where you can download the episode (Peter’s Segment starts at 3:53). Be warned, the file is just shy of 200 Megs.
