Double Trouble!

So I’m flipping through my comic boxes today, looking for some extra copies of a few books that a bud  is interested in. These boxes contain all sorts of comic goodies besides my duplicates: TMNT appearances in other comics, old newspaper articles, & ash can copies to name a few. Also in this box are my double cover issues.

Yes, that was plural.

Many people have seen and probably own the most famous double cover in the TMNTdom, issue #3:

Here’s my copy in case you have no idea what I’m talking about. Due to a printing error here are 2 complete covers on the book. The most I have seen on a Turtle book is 2 covers, but in other comic lines I’ve seen a book with 3,4, and even 5 covers on it.

Now what you may not know is that this book is NOT the only one to get the double cover treatment. Check out my Savage Dragon copy below:

There’s also this book, but unfortunately I forgot to snap photos before sending in for grading (if you can read the label, on the right it mentions that its a DC on the top line)

My favorite DC would have to be this baby though, #1 2nd print. Its in terrific condition and was actually my first copy of the 2nd print.issue1doublecover

I have an Archie book somewhere as well but I don’t have a pic of it at the moment.
In case you’re curious, these books are not exactly common. Other than the #3 and the Archie book, I have only seen 1 copy of each of these books (and they are of course in my collection now 🙂 ) Without a doubt there are more out there so if you have any of these or others, please COMMENT and share. Shoot me some pics and I’ll post it here as well.

TurtleDoc Update. New Blog!

raph

Our good friends running the TurtleDoc project have graced us with another blog update. Leave it to Randall Lobb to make a connection between the TMNT, and Shannon Tweed. Just…go read it. Click the pic.

P.S. The above photo is fantastic, and makes a great computer desktop. I use it at work!

TMNT Treasures: Purple Dragon Prototype

Tonight on TMNT Treasures, we bring you fans of the 2k3 show something special. This is a test shot of the unreleased Purple Dragon figure.

201_2163

Originally slated for release in 2006, This Purple Dragon figure was one of the handful of figures that were slated for production that got the axe. Here is an example (not a part of our collections) of a painted prototype of the figure:

Unfortuantely ours is missing the jacket… and while ours isn’t painted, it is still a fine example of good Playmates work that will never see the light of day…Except…you know…here 🙁

Click the top pic to go to an album of the figure.

IGN Features A Segment of the Season 7 Special Features

Ok, first off, I just want to put it out there that I had nothing to do with this. So don’t think I went and got sneaky to get myself on IGN.

Anyways, IGN has posted part of the interview I did with SuperheroHQ on behalf of Lions Gate for the Season 7 DVDs. This segment features Kevin and I talking about my tattoos. Click the Pic.
