Like a silent green ghost parachuting in the dead of night, Raph is the toughest tactical Turtle to take on the Foot. Trained to tenderize Shredder and rescue April, this guerilla-gripped green good guy always completes his secret sewer mutant missions. Sabotage and espionage are the tools of his trade; for a true Green Teen Beret needs not the weapons of wicked warriors. No, rather, Raph uses his justifiable jungle sense and super soldier skills to make his bare hands his greatest weapon. But if the goin’ gets really rough, Raph’s got wacky weapons to fool the Foot. One shot from his whip cream pistol and he’s just chopped nuts and a cherry away from a victory sundae. So raise the anti-Foot flag high – and wave it proudly. Democracy rules, dudes!

–>> One of two Turtles collector cases made by Tara i know of. The slightly larger 1990 “DELUXE” TMNT case boasts holding 20 figures and has more familiar Lavigne/Brown style guide art decor.

I barely remember when i obtained this, it was so long ago. I think might have twisted my ma’s arm to pick it up for me at the Salvation Army for like 50 cents when i was still in high school or summin’.

It came without the cheap plastic handle the deluxe case has ( or similar, vintage collector cases for like Hot wheels, Real Ghostbusters, He-Man or G.I. Joe. ect. also made by Tara ).

Those handles are awful anyway and in my experience with them when i was a boy was that they always fell out if TOO MUCH WEIGHT of the toys within’ gave gravity the advantage. The dang case would fall off from the handle in transit with dropping the case on the ground. Sometimes the case would open spilling the toys.

The top inner tray was the most damaged and is still cracked, but the worst of the cracks have been repaired with some household epoxy and clear packing tape.

Initially for years the handle i had used an old ribbon that just didn’t really quite work well as a holding mechanism and looked like crap.

Within’ the past year i replaced the ribbon with a jury-rigged handle made from shipping twine & and a broken piece of an old leather belt.

The packaged tube was sent in less than stellar condition and was a bit smooshed which is fine because i bought this one to open anyway.

The ironic thing is that for the past 4 years Tokka’s been trying to track down one of the “TUBE” pack Turtles just to have one to keep in package.

It seems the paint on Leo .. particularly his plastron appears slightly more vibrant than on the carded versions purchased years back.

i’m a little jaded about the topic at this point after trying to remain optimistic about this line, i.e. series 2 ( Shredder and Foot ) and beyond. Guess Tokka was delusional.

After 4 years now, we are on the dawn of new TMNT T.V. show toys, and a new wave of collector toys ..particularly focusing, at least initially on the classic cartoon show as you may know.

NECA TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES :: "LEONARDO" Tube Pack xv (( 2008 ))It appears NECA has given up on the TURTLES all together, and it’s likely that no more TMNT comic figures will be put out by them. I feel pretty sad even after they told me directly that they still had the license after the Viacom transition. So hardcore Turtle Toy fans like my friend Vaughn were right, this is it.

With Playmates back at the controls entirely of all TMNT figures, they will really have to ratchet it up to mark the quality of the NECA line in their upcoming collector line.

The price on those toys coming out in the fall will be a little higher similar to the effect of MARVEL LEGENDS, so they just might be at a higher quality point. That’s more than likely a good thing, fingers crossed.
