Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Action Figure Showcase

Playmates Toys, the master toy licensee for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is hosting a panel during Comic-Con. We’ve included additional details for you below, and we’d love to see you there!

When: Thursday, July 18th 2PM-3PM

Where: Comic-Con International: San Diego, Room 25ABC

What: Hear what’s now, new and next for our favorite action figures! The panel will offer sneak peeks at future toys and attendees can ask questions of ‘team green’ members who’ve worked on all three incarnations of the Turtles since their debut decades ago.

Exclusive Shredder Action Figure

Playmates Toys and Nickelodeon will also be debuting a special Comic-Con edition Shredder action figure, which will be on sale in Nickelodeon’s booth – # 4113. Standing at a height of 5.75 inches tall, the 2013 Comic Con Edition Shredder is ready for battle. Protected by his vacuum metallized razor-sharp armor and helmet, Shredder stands on his customized sewer lid base looking for revenge. Packed in his one of a kind, four color closed box, this figure is highly collectible with only limited quantities available.

Well, five minutes after posting the new Movie pics, I find this…

William Fichtner has been added onto the cast of the New Movie as a “Character with Iconic Stature”.

For those not familiar with the name, you’ve seen him in various movies and shows such as SEAL Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden, Entourage and The Dark Knight.

Considering his acting background, and the recent photos of a seemingly Para-Military style Foot Clan, we may have our Shredder. The Rumor Mill’s been grinding away at stories of a crazed Soldier who’s got the turtles in his sights, and this… may or may not cement that idea in some fans’ minds. I’m very curious to see how the whole origin story is going to play out, if this is the situation.

I want to see more info before I make a judgement, but the speed that things are coming out is awesome. We’ll be getting our answers soon enough…

That didn’t stop ***LF Garcia from being inspired by this conundrum and flexing his design muscles.

His custom “hypothetical” DVD covers for the never officially released ( well at least not yet, time will tell ) Seasons 3 & 4 of the show are actually really cool !!

CARDINAL :: Nickelodeon TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES - 48 Piece Lenticular Puzzle // tOkKustom matte & framed iii (( 2012 ))

A simple department store frame slightly larger than the completed puzzle was used here. **Traditional puzzle saving methods with MODGE PODGE water-based sealer glue was used. HOWEVER, only a few coats on the BACK OF THE PUZZLE were used.

Any variety of puzzle-saver glue or MODGE PODGE should suffice !!

The principles of the lenticular puzzle pieces are of a more ridged plastic than the standard cardboard jigsaw puzzle. Once a lenticular puzzle is completed, at least at this scale and with this many number of pieces ..you can carefully flip the completed puzzle over. A larger number of pieces in a lenticular puzzle, that may require additional assistance or flipping tricks to turn that type of puzzle over.

Once the sealer had been coated on the back of the puzzle a few times, simple matting and framing was implemented with a background of Nick TMNT gift-wrap under the puzzle. You don’t have to do this obviously, it’s just what i did to add to the visual theme of the puzzle. Again i did not laminate the front to keep the original 3d effect of the puzzle. Sealing the front could potentially ruin the effect.

The puzzle in this particular frame is a little tight. You have to use the sealant carefully as if you use to much and/or unevenly .. it can warp a puzzle. I may have done that slightly to this puzzle, i’m not sure. Still i managed to get the piece to fit in the frame. YOU WANT THE PUZZLE TO BE AS FLAT AS WHEN YOU ORIGINALLY FINISHED IT WHEN SEALING WITH THE PUZZLE SAVER.
