F.A.K.K. 2

• •

–>> The controversial followup to the cult-famous 1980’s Sci-fi anthology is not a squeal but an adaptation of Bisley,Talbot, and Eastman’s 1990’s masterwork :Melting Pot.

The imperfect but fun as heck fantasy flick: “This sequel to Heavy Metal is a high-octane science fiction adventure concerning a beautiful young woman named Julie who vows vengeance on a ruthless tyrant after he destroys her planet. As with the first film, the stunning visuals are backed by a stellar soundtrack.

.. Good dukes it out against evil in a sleekly animated franchise update that retains its futuristic rock-fueled seediness. “..

B-movie legend Julie Strain reprises her role of the powerful warrior who was one of the main sources for Kevin’s creative inspirations in the 1990s. Julie is forced into a battle defending the planet designated F.A.K.K.² against the incredible forces of Intergalactic Tyrant who destroy it, LORD TYLER ( Michael Ironside ); while being followed by the mysterious & ominous intentions of the strange Sage,Odin ( Billy Idol ).

..check it out.. even just for curiosity’s sake, or if you are a fan of Melting Pot; this is a respectful & prolly the only film adaptation of this master piece story we are likely to get.

Created under Kevin’s supervision, it will whet your appetite for better things to come in the upcoming third HEAVY METAL installment.

**Danzig Goes Into the Studio, Has Lyrics Illustrated

Working even harder at erasing the memory of Danzig V: Blackacidevil — yes, we know that was, like, 13 years ago but it still hurts — singer Glen Danzig has posted on his official website that he has entered the studio. This album will be the follow-up to 2004’s nominally-better Circle Of Snakes and should be released by year’s end. It will feature drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative) and Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), marking Kelly’s recorded debut with Danzig despite being in the band for years.

The only real statement Danzig has made about the album though is in reference to one particular song, “Long Dark Road,” which he reveals is “very creepy and echo-y. It’s like an old ’50s-ish kind of song. I’ve been having it in my head probably for about six, seven, eight years. I haven’t gotten around to recording it and I recorded it, so it’s pretty cool.”

In the meantime, we may sate ourselves with a new book collaboration by Danzig and his favourite artist Simon Bisley. Due out within the next few months, the release is a compilation of lyrics to every Misfits, Samhain and Danzig track with original illustration hand-painted representations by Bisley. Anyone with even a fleeting acquantance with Bisely has surely seen his work, be it on previous Danzig albums such as 6:66 Satan’s Child and The Lost Tracks Of Danzig,  or his comic book work featured in classic issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman and Judge Dredd.
