Away Till’ Tuesday

Hey gang,
Just a quick note that Heather and I will be on vacation until tuesday. I’ll have my phone with me so I’ll check my e-mail a couple times a day. But if there is something news worthy that you’d like to see up in the meantime, please defer to one of the other staff members (e-mails in the sidebar).

See you Tuesday!

Return to Jim Lawson – Giveaway!

*Please Note: This post is sticky until the end of the giveaway. All new posts will be seen underneath this one.*

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO GET YOUR LETTERS TO ME, SO IF YOU HAVE BEEN SLACKING OFF ON THIS…GET’ER DUN!

Ok, first of all…I’m pretty sure Jim doesn’t read this blog…but I know a couple of you Mirage folk do…so you are officially not allowed to say a damn thing to Jim about this! It’s a suprise!

We clear? Good! Moving on!

So in the wake of the release of Tales #70 (Return to New York 1.5), I wanted to do something nice for Jim…but I also wanted to give stuff away for Memorial Day! What is a Machine to do?!?!?!

I’m killing two birds with one stone! That’s what! So here is what is going down. We are giving away the original Return to New York Trilogy along with Jim’s last issue – Tales #70. So you get the complete Return to New York saga for free!

What do you have to do for these? It’s really simple actually. I want you to e-mail me (Stephan@GoGreenMachine.Org). But you aren’t writing a letter to me, you are writing a letter to Jim Lawson. What kind of letter? A thank you letter! We want you to Write us a letter for Jim, Thanking him for his last 20 some odd years of work on the Turtles (and…for whatever else you feel like thanking him for). Then, after we get all the letters, I’m going to print them, bind them, and mail them to him. Neat huh? We think so too! Everyone who writes Jim a letter will be entered in the drawing for the books. Even if you don’t win, we are still shooting to make Jim feel kick ass! If you wanna add a picture or drawing thats fine too. Just attach it to the email!

So lets say….get me your letters byyyyyy….. June 11th? That gives you two whole freakin weeks to write your letter. So I expect to get a lot of them! Seriously. No excuse not to do this! So get to it!

Oh…and if you DO end up reading this Jim…just try to act suprised ok?

Sideshow Leo Preview!

Not really sure how I missed this…seeing as I get the newletter and all!

Anyway, sideshow is now previewing the long awaited Leonardo statue. Pre-Orders on June 3rd, with the full production preview on June 1st! Who’s excited?!?!?! Click the pic!

(Rumor) Bay to Head Up TMNT Re-Launch?

I’m labeling this a rumor because it is new news, and I don’t want to get you guys all crazy if this turns out to be nothing. Via The Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have brought Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form on to produce Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the live-action film that reboots the film series launched by New Line in 1990. Bay, Fuller and Form will produce with Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.

The producers will begin meetings with writers in the next few weeks. The deal puts Bay in the center of two Paramount franchises, as he started production May 17 on Transformers 3, and is zeroing in on Rosie Huntington-Whitely to replace Megan Fox as love interest for Shia LaBeouf. TNMT, a co-production between Paramount and Nickelodeon, is an outgrowth of the $60 million acquisition made by Nick last October for global rights to the entire Turtles franchise. Right around the same time, Paramount made a first look deal with the Platinum Dunes partners, who will generate genre projects but also want to expand their scope. While they’ve already set up several projects including a Rob Cohen-remake of Fright Night, the Turtles film puts them into new territory.
