Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Action Figure Showcase

Playmates Toys, the master toy licensee for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is hosting a panel during Comic-Con. We’ve included additional details for you below, and we’d love to see you there!

When: Thursday, July 18th 2PM-3PM

Where: Comic-Con International: San Diego, Room 25ABC

What: Hear what’s now, new and next for our favorite action figures! The panel will offer sneak peeks at future toys and attendees can ask questions of ‘team green’ members who’ve worked on all three incarnations of the Turtles since their debut decades ago.

Exclusive Shredder Action Figure

Playmates Toys and Nickelodeon will also be debuting a special Comic-Con edition Shredder action figure, which will be on sale in Nickelodeon’s booth – # 4113. Standing at a height of 5.75 inches tall, the 2013 Comic Con Edition Shredder is ready for battle. Protected by his vacuum metallized razor-sharp armor and helmet, Shredder stands on his customized sewer lid base looking for revenge. Packed in his one of a kind, four color closed box, this figure is highly collectible with only limited quantities available.

Kevin Eastman was one of the artists selected to contribute to The Walking Dead 100 Project and below is the cover he did for it. I just thought it was awesome and thought you might think the same.

Workin’ Fans’ UPDATE :: The Art of 88 continues & hits Heavy Metal this summer, TMNT OotS, COMIX – ‘EVIL’ Leo et. al.

“AGENT 88: THE ART OF 88 opening night was a huge success and we’re going to continue screening for the next 3 weeks. If you’re available to come down to the screenings please do. Included here you’ll find an invite to the May 30th screening and below are the remaining dates at Petra Gallerie are as follows:

Thursday May 30th 7 til 11pm
Thursday June 6th 7 til 11pm
Wednesday June 19th 7 til 11pm

Every evening is a bit different in that the artists that are signing books and prints from 7:00 til 8:30 are different each week as well as the Live Talent performing between screenings.

We’ve included some shots from the event, where we we had the pleasure of seeing quite a few of you. Some that flew in from as far away from Japan, U.K, Hong Kong and from around the USA. It was …..Mind Blowing are the words I think I’m looking for. All 561 backers had their names up on the big screen for the first time and it was a great feeling to see how far all this has come and where it all started…with you.

“This 1985 Kevin Eastman pin-up features a huge image of Raphael leaping heedless into battle among a barrage of arrows. It is a very nice image by the TMNTs co-creator and it is from an early date, less than a year after the groundbreaking release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles spawned an entertainment and marketing machine that continues to this very day to churn out everything from blockbuster movies to breakfast cereal and action figures. This quirky little independent issue also changed the way that collectors and investors thought about the hobby of comic book collecting. Art dating from the early years of the run is extremely coveted and high quality examples are in short supply on the open market. This art is signed and dated at the lower right and has an image area of approximately 8″ x 11″. ”
