SDCC Contest Ends Tomorrow!

Just a reminder that the “I Didn’t Get To Go To Comic Con-Test” Ends tomorrow (Monday the 10th) AT MIDNIGHT any entries in my inbox after midnight will automatically be disregarded. Original post below:

You know…the only thing I like better than being the administrator of the best TMNT blog in the world…is giving stuff away on the best TMNT blog in the world!

That’s right! Ladies and Gentleman! I proudly present to you, the first (maybe) annual, GoGreenMachine.Org “I DIDN’T GET TO GO TO COMIC CON-TEST”!

We know many, many of you did not get to SDCC this year. And we at GGM feel sorry for you! So sorry in fact, that we want to give you something to make you feel better! You poor poor emo kid!

We are going to give away THREE sets of the following prize package:

100_2823

A copy of of the Special Deluxe Edition Reprint of the first issue of Eastman and Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (given away to attendees of the Turtles Forever Screening) signed by:

Kevin Eastman
Peter Laird
Steve Lavigne
Eric Talbot
Dan Berger
Jim Lawson
Mike Dooney
Tristan Jones
Andres Ponce
Dario Brizuela

ANNNNNNNNND! (Did he say AND?) YES, ANNNNNNNNND!
a print of the Famous Talbot piece “Shadow-Splinter-Casey-April” Signed by Eric Talbot himself!

I know what youre saying, “Holy poop Stephan! That is one heck of a prize package! How do I gets me one?”

I’m glad you asked! All you have to do is tell us a story about why you didn’t go to San Diego Comic Con this year. But there is a catch! YOUR ANSWER MUST BE FICTIONAL! That’s right. We want you to lie to us. We want you to tell us the biggest, craziest, unbelievable lie your sick twisted brain can muster! Because let’s face it, the REAL reason you didn’t go is probably really lame and boring. And who wants to read lame and boring?!

Just like all of our contests, winners will be chosen at random (the ol’ name in a hat routine). The 3 winners will receive the above prize package, and have their big ol’ whopper of a story posted on GoGreenMachine.Org for all to see!

Please send your Name, mailing address (in case you win), and story to Stephan@GoGreenMachine.Org

Please have your story submitted to us by Monday, August 10th! (That is two weeks from today). Please keep stories to about a page in length.

YOU CANNOT ENTER THIS CONTEST IF YOU ATTENDED SDCC09 (I know who you are!) If we catch you trying to enter and you attended, you will be disqualified from this AND ANY FUTURE GGM CONTEST (trust me, so not worth it).

As Always, GoGreenMachine.Org writers are also not eligible.

GET TO LYING!

Huge Thanks go out to Rob Longert of Peppercom, Mirage Studios, Kevin Eastman, and Eric Talbot for supplying prizes!

Nick Palma Trying out for the Foot Clan

INCREDIBLY observant GGM reader, Zkarlette, brought it to our attention that one of the martial artists trying out to be a foot extra, was in fact, Nick Palma! Stunt actor for Mikey in TMNTII! Here is a signed picture of Nick, back in the day (courtesy of Rutger):

And Here he is trying out for the foot clan this last weekend:

Talk about slipping in under the radar!!!

My Day With The TMNT25 Gang! (Or, "Meeting Friends, Old and New")

Wow…what a freakin’ day! Crazy, non-stop running around Los Angeles. But I have to tell you now…What started out as just something that I figured I should cover for the blog…wnded up being a REALLY cool day!

The day started at 10AM at the Hollywood and Highland shopping center (I bet you can’t guess what the cross streets are) where Scott Mednick and Galen Walker (Producers, TMNT 2011) were holding tryouts for the foot clan extras in the next turtles film. They were judging ninjas, big and small, with the help of Ernie Reyes Jr., and a member of the ATA whos name I didn’t catch (Sorry dude!)

While I would love to say I was terribly excited by this event…it was a martial arts tryout and it was a BILLION degrees outside, so I personally wasn’t totally thrilled to be there. I have to say though…every single applicant there was absolutely thrilled to be there, and there were some VERY talented folk. Much respect to all of you.

You can find pictures I took of the event HERE

And a ton of video HERE (which is incidentally our new You Tube Channel! Subscribe!)

So after running home and clearing out the ol’ memory card, it was off to Golden Apple Comics.

Now, it is no secret that I am…kind of an idiot…Today was no exception…because I had no idea that not only was the Bus stopping at the store…but Kevin was also signing there! I was totally unprepared! Thankfully, they had the new heavy Metal TMNT25 compilation book there (which I didn’t have yet) so I still had something to make Kevin spend ink on.

While you can find all the pictures I took at Golden Apple HERE, I will go over a few of my favorites!

“The Eastmans” – Kevin, Pam, Peter and Shane
Waiting for my turn to say hi to Kevin, I snapped this picture while I was talking to Ernie. I’m so happy I finally got to meet Pam, I have heard so many good things about her from Kevin, which is funny because she said the exact same thing about me! And for the record, I love those kids. Peter is crazy awesome and has a fantastic imagination. I played a game of little green army men war with that kid once…he totally destroyed my force of red army men…Jerk.

You know, I don’t think he has ever had a straight face in any of our pictures lol.
100_2665

My new (old) friend from the Technodrome.com…Jimmyjams!
100_2666

Now this was a random win-fall. Mirage super legend, Michael Hill (Former Creative Director of Mirage) stopped in to say hi to Kevin, and we ended up talking most of the afternoon!
100_2668

This was something else REALLY random. This girl stops me and Michael mid conversation and says “Excuse me, my friend here is the daughter of Peter Laird, and was wondering if she could take a picture with your tattoos.” So I look behind her and, sure enough, Emily Laird is standing right there. I of course was honored to meet and take a couple pictures with Pete’s girl. This was the picture we snapped on my camera.

Here is a shot of my favorite Canadian Sausages: Randall, Curtis, and Isaac, of Turtledoc.com
100_2672

Right before we were leaving, I caught Mike Sinterniklaas (Leonardo TMNT 2K3) for a quick photo op.
100_2679

This was after the event when a few of us were standing around talking about nothing in particular…I just think it’s a good picture of Kev 😛
100_2674

Anyway! Thanks for reading my post and checking out the pictures! I had a blast! And I will see many of you at SDCC! Remember to check back here for the live streaming of panels during the show!

Go Green Machine!
