GGM Broadcasting Events at SDCC 09 LIVE!

roboturts003

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that, barring technical difficulties, GoGreenMachine.Org will be streaming the 25th anniversary panel (Friday 4:15-5:15) LIVE from our website. We are still running tests on our gear to see what kind of quality we can get via streaming (We are particularly worried about the sound), but absolute worst case scenario, we will begin uploading the video to our servers IMMEDIATELY afterward (God bless netbooks).

Additionally, We will be live streaming the Special Convention Presentation “Spotlight on Convention Special Guest Kevin Eastman” from 1-2 on Thursday.

Not to mention all the other random photos and videos we will be posting all week long. It all actually starts TOMORROW with our coverage of the Foot Clan tryouts in Los Angeles along with the TMNT25 Los Angeles tour stop at Golden Apple.

So keep an eye on Http://www.GoGreenMachine.Org starting tomorrow and all through SDCC09!

Much Love!

Go Green Machine!

Johnny Cupcakes TMNT Shirt and Movie Screening Update

jc_tmnt_pizza_webflyer2

I know a ton of you online were interested in this shirt, so I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with Johnny via e-mail, and the shirts will be available through their online store this coming friday!

Additionally, Johnnyblaze of the technodrome attended the Movie Screening in Boston, and had this to say:

I actually went to this, it was a lot of fun. Got the t shirt and the limited edition poster he hand made (I think he did a run of only 78 ) that he was also selling. It was a manhole cover, with the film’s title and Johnny Cupcake’s presents on it, being removed by a turtle (all you see is his fingers from beneath the man hole cover) Its a pretty sweet looking poster. Going to pick up a frame for it soon. They gave out free pizza to everyone and we watched the film. Reaction was pretty cool. The film’s logo right before we first see the turtles got a huge reaction. A lot of laughter at certain parts (Raphael being kept in a tub way too small for him instead of a bed for example, and pre mutation Splinter in his cage practicing how to fight. The funny thing is as a kid, I remember people laughing their asses off at that part too lol…), Casey got a lot of cheers, especially his flirting with April scenes, and the biggest reaction of course was at the end when the turtles screamed ‘Cowabunga!” and the entire theater went nuts with applause. Over all it was a truly fun night. They are doing a showing of Goonies next month and Ghostbusters in October so I will be there for those mos def.

Somethin' Somethin' Johnny Cupcakes!

So, my dear friend and former Co-Worker, Mary, has a sickness…
The poor poor woman has an unhealthy obsession with… cupcakes. Srsly. That is all she talks about.
But in this case, it is a good thing! She pointed me at the blog of the Johnny Cupcakes Company today, announcing that they are going to be sponsoring a showing of the first TMNT movie in boston, and releasing the coolest t-shirt ever in the history of the world ever. Click the pic for more info!

A.C. Jumps In To Talk About His Leo Bust!

leobust

Earlier today I was pleasantly surprised to see the great A.C. Farley came over and left a comment about an older post regarding the Leo bust he sculpted back in the day. As I know most of you probably won’t notice a comment on a post that old, I thought I would bring it up to the top 🙂

Hi,

Here’s a few facts about this bust… It’s one of the few sculpts I’ve ever done and the ONLY sculpture I’ve ever done professionally. It’s very rare, since it was planned to be a 500 run limited edition, but only around 80 were made. I have two of them… the one that I assembled and painted as an example for the guy that painted them, and one in a box unpainted. There are some painted and some unpainted out there in the world. I don’t know how many were painted.

We at Mirage had originally wanted to do full figure ‘Mirage type TMNT’ sculptures of all four Turtles, but Mirage had a contract with Playmates that included rights to any full figure TMNT product. We ran into a lot of this kind or brick wall because of licensing. We couldn’t even make our own Mirage T-shirts with TMNT on them for awhile, because a company had purchased exclusive rights to make TMNT clothing. Weird, huh? So the best we could negotiate with Playmates was permission to do a limited edition bust, instead of a full figure. The model making company that contracted to cast the busts COMPLETELY dropped the ball on this project and so there were only around 80 made, cast in plain resin, instead of the 500 bronze filled resin busts that we had planned for in the beginning.

So the busts are even more rare and even more limited than anyone planned at first.

That cover photo is the actual unpainted, Sculpey build. I gave that to Pete Laird after the casting.

Later,
A.C. Farley

Thanks for the insight A.C.! Glad you enjoy GGM!
