New Theme!

roboturts003

If you’ve visited the site throughout the day, you may have noticed and couple HUGE changes.

The first layout I messed with was this old toon colored “70s throwback” thing (as Machias so kindly put it). It was…different…and havd a couple cool features…but it wasnt quite right.

So now I have chosen to go in a totally different route. This layout feels a lot more like the layout you already know in love…BUT WITH A SUPER COOL BLADE INTERFACE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE THAT I AM TOTALLY PROUD OF!!!!!

*AHEM* While the new blades don’t contain ALL of out categories for posts…they do contain our most popular…and you can still have access to ALL out our categories by use of the widget in the sidebar.

I also cleaned up margins a lot in comparison to the old page.

Anyway, I think I’m done screwing with it for the time being…there are a few things that still bug me, but I’ve been working on it all day, so I’m going to leave well enough alone for now.

P.S. Being able to keep those little chibi turtles in the background (that everyone goes nuts about every time i take them down) was a total pain in the butt! So I hope you appreciate it!

"THE NERVE" - Project :: World AIDS Day 2009

** S-cap, The Southern Colorado AIDS Project
” Today’s a day to take action.

Talk about HIV prevention with your friends and family. If you’ve engaged in high risk behaviors, get tested for HIV and most importantly, support those living with HIV and AIDS with your compassion and understanding ..

Why Get tested…

HIV testing is integral to HIV prevention, treatment, and care efforts. Knowledge of one’s HIV status is important for preventing the spread of disease. Testing provides an opportunity for people to receive counseling and information about risk reduction, and many who learn they are HIV positive modify their behavior to reduce the risk of HIV
transmission. Early knowledge of HIV status is also important for linking those who are HIV positive to medical care and services that can reduce morbidity and mortality and improve quality of life.

In August 2008, CDC published the first national HIV incidence (new infections) estimates using new technology and methodology that more directly measure the number of new HIV infections in the United States. The first analyses, published in the August 6, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), showed that in 2006, an estimated 56,300 new HIV infections occurred – a number that is substantially higher than the previous estimate of 40,000 annual new infections.

According to the CDC,
HIV Prevention in the US
is at a Critical Crossroad

Stan Sakai’s The Hundreds Shirts

Helloooooooooo! Happy Monday!

So last week we showed you shots of Stan Sakai’s signing at The Hundreds clothing bouteque in Los Angeles! Well, that signing was actually to celebrate t-shirts made by The Hundreds featuring your favorite samurai rabbit and mine!…Usagi Yojimbo! I had ordered said shirts, and they came in over the weekend. I thought you’d like to see them!

Back

I think they are pretty spiffy. And while they are a tad on the pricey side, they seem to be quality shirts! You can order them here

X-entertainment’s Video Archives :: 65th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the parade riding in on fancy Red Cadillacs” (( 1991 ))

** X-Entertainment: The 1991 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade !!

☆ ☆

“.. ..Still in top form by 1991 were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and at the parade, all four of them appeared, riding in on fancy red Cadillacs. Even though they were just as much live action movie stars as beloved cartoon characters by this point, the costumes reflect their animated appearances. The costumes aren’t exactly top notch when compared to the suits we saw in the films, but at least the designers went through the trouble of gluing cute little Santa hats onto each Ninja Turtle head.

There were two Cadillacs, and two Turtles in each. The first one out had Raphael and Donatello, and I’ll take this as a solid admission that they were by far the coolest Ninja Turtles. Your opinion may differ, but let’s review the facts:

Michaelangelo: Party dude who liked screaming party-themed words.
Leonardo: Disciplined leader known for honing his skills and being a fun-sucker.

Raphael: B☻tchy loner who enjoyed obscenities and Critters 3.
Donatello: Oddball scientist who built giant blimps in his spare time.

Come on, there’s no comparison.

All told, it’s kind of a weak appearance for the Turtles. They didn’t get a balloon, and they didn’t have any kind of song and dance number. Despite this, the audience goes absolutely bananas for ’em. In the clip, take note of the crowd noise. I really doubt that the parade’s producers went through the trouble of piping prerecorded cheers over the speakers, so this was a legitimate hometown heroes’ welcome for the lean, green fighting machines.” — **Matt @ x-entertainment.com
