If there is a DVD to look forward to this summer, it has to be Turtle Power: A Definitive History of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The project started in 2009, beginning with a few interviews, but then it grew and blossomed into an amazing archive of everything turtle-centric imaginable. From the early beginnings of the comics, to the big screen, little screen, and everything in between. The crew traveled back and forth across the country, meeting with comic artists, actors, illustrators, producers, writers, fans, collectors, and anyone else they could get their camera on.
The result was hundreds of hours of interviews and commentary on the entire history and future of the franchise, from Eastman and Laird, to Viacom and Paramount’s upcoming movie.
From what I can tell, there is NO correlation between this and the book that is coming out in a month or two. But both items would be a fantastic addition to your collection.
