–>> The “NINJA TURTLES” title on the cards reflects early design and production by Playmates before “TEENAGE MUTANT” was added back to the title of the reboot film. Cards and promo material had already been produced or were already moving forward in production by the time name change was made so i presume it was kind of too late to go back and change the first wave releases. That may change on cards in future releases later this year/ next year.

I believe this has happened to Playmates before, for example when they had the Peter Jackson “KING KONG” license. KING KONG related products and toys had “KONG : THE 8th WONDER OF THE WORLD” labeling, toys that rolled out at this time i think represented an earlier title to that film. Until just simply “KING KONG” became the film’s title. The early design and production by the toy companies had already had “8th WONDER – ” labels and cards. Playmates was not the only company effected by this. Tho’ i doubt the Film title changing issues really go into effecting the parallel product line’s sales. Other factors on the other hand do tho’.

I’m finding that the the basic Movie Foot is pretty creepy so i ‘ll have one AS-IS.. it’s doubtful that the FOOT are wearing translucent masks in the film. They might, but amoung the first real villains we were able to sneak-a-peek at fully last year was the standard “PARAMILITARY” – like Foot Soldiers. I tried to make one as movie accurate as i could, and it really wasn’t that hard and didn’t take too long. This is just what i did, you can do whatever you want or nothing at all, of coarse.

"NINJA TURTLES" Movie :: FOOT SOLDIER { tOKKustom PARAMILITARY wash } x // ..Foot Tactical Shield (( 2014 )) Using metallic silver, Krylon Fusion “hammered-look” COPPER spray paint for plastics ( on mask ), and some various washes and minor paint on his scarf & metallics on the boots – i think i did okay. The survival knife and firearms have just a metallic wash over them and weapons & figure are coated in a simple sealant even a glue-like substance like Modge Podge rubbed on the figure will work. That final step is not 100 % necessary, but if he’s gonna be handled allot for play and display, i do suggest it.

Since the Foot seem to be going all G.I.Joe in this movie, expanding the Soldier’s arsenal was just an obvious & easy option. For his cannon, battering ram, shield and bullhorn i easily customized/metalized the “stolen” weapons from one of the cheap DOLLAR TREE “MILITARY ACTION FIGURES” available in the toy isle of most of those stores. The weapons aren’t perfect, but add a fun display option. The one displayed on the right is the toy i cobbled these weapons from. The frogman looks like he has some cool weapons to RAVAGE as in the future !!

It wasn’t but a few days ago that we sent you all a message regarding Sharon Sakai and her health problems. Now tragedy has struck the Sakai family once again. Stan’s 20-month old grandson, Leo, passed away yesterday { Dec.29 2013 ~ t } afternoon after being found unconscious and not breathing. This is an unimaginable tragedy for anyone, and for people who have been so kind and giving and good as Stan and Sharon to undergo it is a harsh reminder of the random cruelty of life.

Stan’s Facebook post: “Grandson Leo was tested yesterday and it was confirmed today that he is brain dead. He is exactly 20 months old. He lived such a short life, but I’m so glad he shared it with me. It was a good day for him yesterday, and he died without pain and peacefully. Thank you, Buddy. Grandpa loves you. So much.”

As mentioned before, there was already a benefit underway to help with Sharon’s medical bills; while nothing can make things better, during times of stress, some extra cash to help with the unexpected can be of use. For over 16 years I have been good friends with my buddy Todd Bustillo, He also runs the “Usagi Yojimbo Dojo”.. It is with deep grievances that I share with you today that we have lost a large part of the Usagi Yojimbo & TMNT family. Stan Sakai Creator and Artist of Usagi Yojimbo has lost his grandson, “Leo” named after Leonardo from TMNT. Those close to the Sakai’s also know that he is also going thru alot with his wife having cancer. The Sakai’s have meant so much to this community and Todd and Stan have meant so much to me that i am having a Fundraiser for the Sakai Family. To raise money to help with hospital bills and any other burden that money can heal.. though the loss of a grandson is incredibly painful I am trying to do what I know best and raise a bit of money that will be sent straight to the Sakai Family. The ooze seems a little tiny bit thicker than the older versions ..but it’s a bit hard to tell.

That may be understandable due to inflation. In the 1990s a 4 oz. can of ooze i think was around 2 – 4 bucks. To Playmates’ defense ..you are getting a little bit more product than in the classic cans aside from the little bonus figure.

Each display has 12 cans per case, my first purchase was the last 5 of the display case they had from the toy store shelf. Only Leo, Don, and Mikey were available in the remaining cans i purchased. I’ll have to try to get Raph later.

Trying to recall :: Ooze cans were available individually OUTSIDE of North America in the 2000s. Unless i was missing something, the individual cans weren’t not available in the States. You had to buy the deluxe Mutations Turtle figures to get the Bonus Ooze.

The individual cans overseas did come with an exclusive “bonus pre-mutant turtle”. If i recall.. i think the little figures had moving parts. Not sure tho’. Cannot recall at this time.

Nickelodeon TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES :: MUTAGEN OOZE xxxii / with "TMNT MUTATIONS" Don & Raph OOZE containers '07 (( 2013 ))The third incarnation the TMNT Mutations toys came out during the 2007 movie era of toys.

Similar concept as the classic Mutations but with improved sculpting and detailing of the “baby turtle” forms and improved articulation of the Mutated forms. Still these toys were controversial with some fans.

Never-the-less each of the teens came with a mini T.C.R.I. can of Ooze with a different colour to match each Turtle. Purple ooze for Don, Reddish ooze for Raph.. ect.
