The Go Ho Ho Green Machine Holiday Contest!

100_1612

This year, The GoGreenMachine.Org team is celebrating our first Christmas together! And we want to get you all in on the celebrating. Now, in the spirit of giving, we wanted to give something away that is truely special to a fan! So we came up with this little contest.

It wouldn’t be a GoGreenMachine contest without writing something! So this time around we would like you to tell us a TMNT Holiday story! It can be about anything so long as it is Holiday and Turtle related. It can be a memory from your own childhood, or a story about the turtles during the holidays that you wrote. Whatever! Have fun with it! As usual, entries should be about a page or so long, since we DO read them all.

All enteries MUST be in our inbox by midnight (Pacific Standard Time) on Christmas day!

As with all our contests, the winner will be chosen at random, so don’t worry about your writing skills. Just try your best!

The winner will recieve this:

A 1992 Playmates My First Raph
Most of you know that the My First Raph is one of the rarest Playmates TMNT toys out there. While this one is in “loved” condition, he is perfect for all of you collectors who aren’t concerned with toys being “MIB”. I did, at one time, patch a pinhole in one of his toes…so while he PROBABLY would still hold water…I wouldn’t recommend it. This is the perfect way to add this sought after toy to your collection for only the cost of writing us a little story.

By entering this contest, you allow us to post your story on GoGreenMachine.Org (cause we probably will). As always, GoGreenMachine.Org staff members are NOT eligibe to win.

Please submit all entries to Stephan@GoGreenMachine.Org
Good Luck! And Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Go Green Machine!

New Theme!

If you’ve visited the site throughout the day, you may have noticed and couple HUGE changes.

The first layout I messed with was this old toon colored “70s throwback” thing (as Machias so kindly put it). It was…different…and havd a couple cool features…but it wasnt quite right.

So now I have chosen to go in a totally different route. This layout feels a lot more like the layout you already know in love…BUT WITH A SUPER COOL BLADE INTERFACE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE THAT I AM TOTALLY PROUD OF!!!!!

*AHEM* While the new blades don’t contain ALL of out categories for posts…they do contain our most popular…and you can still have access to ALL out our categories by use of the widget in the sidebar.

I also cleaned up margins a lot in comparison to the old page.

Anyway, I think I’m done screwing with it for the time being…there are a few things that still bug me, but I’ve been working on it all day, so I’m going to leave well enough alone for now.

P.S. Being able to keep those little chibi turtles in the background (that everyone goes nuts about every time i take them down) was a total pain in the butt! So I hope you appreciate it!

Raph Sideshow Statue Preview

raphstat

Opening my e-mail this morning, I was pleasantly suprised to see a note from Sideshow Collectibles showing a preview of their Raphael polystone statue. I really didn’t expect to see preview images of this statue so soon after the Donatello statue had ben unveiled. But good for Sideshow! According to the release, the pre-orders for this one start December 10th. I’m going to be so freakin’ poor. Click the Pic to check it out!

You can also still try to pre-order the Donatello statues here. You’ll be put on a waiting list, but there is always hope that someone will cancel and you will get thier spot 🙂

Fist Full of Kevin Eastman!

If you are like me (and God help you if you are), you check the Heavy Metal Website every couple of days and wonder when in the heck is Kevin going to update his blog (last time we saw an update was prior to SDCC09). WELL WAIT NO LONGER MY FRIENDS! Today, not only did Kevin Update his blog, but the entire Heavy Metal Site as well! You can either click the pic to read it yourself, or continue to read if you’d like to to pull our the bits that you (as a TMNT fan) probably care about.

Still with me?… K!

“…like rebuilding the entire Heavy metal site from the foundation up—and which if my timing is right, after a year’s work—you’re looking at it right now! …So with all that now in place, you can now expect to see a ton of new things we’ll be adding; more artists, more comics, more behind the scenes previews, contests, apps—so if you haven’t signed up for the newsletter, do so now so you don’t miss out on the updates.”

If I were you, I would go sign up for that newsletter. We may get some neato Turtles Stuff in the future!

“Basically in the past, as it would take me a while get a new update posted I would try to make it as huge as I could to make it worth the wait—but this one will be the last one like that—as I want to get up here every Sunday night, post a simpler blog/update of what has happened over the week and what’s coming up—and then hit the message boards for an hour or so. So, if not before, right after the holidays, expect to see a lot more of me in both places.

Lastly, a few months ago I started a Kevin Eastman/Heavy Metal Facebook page—just to reach out to a number of other fans that haven’t made it over to the Heavy Metal website, and/or prefer to chat/update in another kind of forum. Updates and discussions over there will be a little less HM focused—and many Heavy Metal artists and fans have already found me there. So, maybe I’ll see some of you in both places!”

So this basically means that Kevin is going to endevour to increase his online presence SUBSTANTIALLY! So if you have had trouble getting ahold of him in the past, this may be a light at the end of the tunnel for you. However; I DON’T think this is any excuse for the fanbase to decide to MOB him with questions or those stupid facebook aps we all hate so damn much (I don’t CARE if you threw a freakin’ pilllow at me!). But that is my personal opinion… use your best judgement obviously. If you would like to add Kevin as a Facebook friend, you may do so here.

If you’re interested in Heavy Metaly stuff, I suggest going back and reading the whole post on his blog.

Stan Sakai’s The Hundreds Shirts

Helloooooooooo! Happy Monday!

So last week we showed you shots of Stan Sakai’s signing at The Hundreds clothing bouteque in Los Angeles! Well, that signing was actually to celebrate t-shirts made by The Hundreds featuring your favorite samurai rabbit and mine!…Usagi Yojimbo! I had ordered said shirts, and they came in over the weekend. I thought you’d like to see them!

I think they are pretty spiffy. And while they are a tad on the pricey side, they seem to be quality shirts! You can order them here
