Of Note: *Arnet has his lore a little mixed up in the interview linked up – but the character of “VERN FENWICK” in the movie may be an amalgam of Casey’s cousin Syd from the comics and TMNT 2003 show & Vernon from the original cartoon show. Weird. On a nerdy note, technically Vernon was in the comics – the earliest TMNT Adventures books; adaptations of some of the very first few TMNT TOS episodes.

It looks like the recently-launched Honda MSX125 or Honda Grom, as it is marketed in some countries brings back both the monkey bike allure and some nostalgic cartoon characters from the 80’s and 90’s. Honda announced 4 new liveries for the Grom, in color schemes representing the 4 main characters from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series.
These amazing bikes will come in the following liveries: Michelangelo (orange), Donatello (purple), Rafaello (red) and Leonardo (blue).
Honda’s TNMT-themed bikes are expected to show up at the Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January, an event held in the Japanese capital and dedicated to tuning and aftermarket bike and car parts.
Each bike comes with the corresponding character on the side panels and turtle-shell pattern seat.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether these awesome Grom machines will remain just a show-off exercise for Honda, or will they make into production, as most of us would love to see things happen.

Even though we saw quite a few set photos for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, we still don’t know exactly what the characters will look like since the actors were all wearing motion capture suits. Idle Hands (special thanks to Ruxxon for the link) has now run a report from an unnamed source that saw the first incarnation of action figures for the upcoming film which revealed a slew of details about the character’s designs.
Keep in mind that these designs are for the action figures and may not reflect the characters’ final appearance in the film, but they’ll likely be close.
To start, the source says the four turtles have their respective weapons and are quite “traditional” in their turtle design, though he says they appear to have “less texture” than the turtles from the films in the early ’90s. He also notes that the figures retain the “hunched over” posture that can be seen in the set photos and that each turtle seemingly has a different physique. Raphael reportedly is the most muscular of the bunch followed by Leonardo. Donatello is said to boast a “slimmer, leaner” look while Michaelangelo is said to be the shortest of the bunch. And don’t worry, Idle Hands‘ source says each of the turtles has their respective colored masks.
In their description of Master Splinter, the site’s source says he bears a “very traditional design” with a Fu Manchu style moustache and his hair pulled up in a bun of sorts. They also note that he wears a “slightly tattered samurai outfit with a blue upper half with gold accents, tan lower belted robes and blocky sandals.”
The site’s description of Shredder is where things start to get interesting. Their source notes that the character has “pointy edges coming off of absolutely anything” on his suit and that he is “covered head to toe in metal armor or blades.” They do add that his helmet is “pseudo-traditional, adopting elements of the classic look” though they say they believe “He’ll be the stuff of ridicule for some time.”
It might be a few more months before we get to see the characters in an official capacity, but with Toy Fair 2014 set to begin in February, it may come sooner than later. .. ..

And finally there’s the whiny Pierrier :: This brooding LOUD-MOUTH is a Mr.Master with the MASTER MICROPHONE.
When the Turtles’ SECRET UNDERGROUND PAD ™ underneath the Popeel TV MARKETING DEVELOPMENT LABS is Überley decimated .. a wake-up call from the crime fighting, tiki-mask wearing Kootie Jones ( who fights crime with real kooties & harkens back to a day of the grittier Turtles that weren’t all soft n’ squishy – a void filled by the notorious BAT GUY fandom ) and a not-so mystical cardboard cutout of Match Stick ..may be just what they need. If you had not heard, **I’m immensely sad to relay the passing of James Avery via CNN ::
— Actor James Avery, who played the beloved Uncle Phil on the hit 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” has died, his publicist said Wednesday. He was 68.
The cause of death was complications from open-heart surgery, said his manager, Toni Benson. Avery had surgery on November 11 and died Tuesday evening at a hospital in Glendale, California, according to Benson.
“Fresh Prince” co-star Joseph Marcell, who played the family butler Geoffrey, told CNN that Avery was “a marvelous man and a truly wonderful actor.”
Avery played Philip Banks, the stern but loving uncle to Will Smith’s character on the show.
“He strove to present an Uncle Phil that everybody wishes was their uncle,” Marcell said.
Avery believed the show was important because the “striving of the African-American ought to have been shown on television,” Marcell said. “What he has done for television, for African-Americans on television is unsurpassable.”
“Fresh Prince” co-star Alfonso Ribeiro tweeted news of Avery’s passing.

Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of Will Smith, posted the couple’s condolences Wednesday on her verified Facebook page.
“Our condolences to aunt Florence (his mother), Miss Barbara (his wife) and all those who loved him,” Pinkett Smith wrote.
A classically trained actor and poet, Avery grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he was raised by a single mother. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and first appeared onscreen as a dancer in an uncredited role in the 1980 film “The Blues Brothers.”
..A biography provided by his manager said that after he served in the military, Avery moved to San Diego, California, where he began writing TV scripts and poetry for PBS. Before joining the military, he once said, he had dreams of being like Richard Wright and living in Paris. But life took a different turn.
“I knew I loved the arts,” Avery said in an interview for the show “Unscripted.” “I knew I wanted to be a writer, but the theater was something I had been involved in before.”
Avery appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, including “CSI,” “That ’70s Show,” “The Closer” and several appearances as a judge on “L.A. Law.”
Indeed, with his deep, mellifluous voice, he frequently played judges, professors and doctors — Uncle Phil began as a lawyer and eventually became a judge — and was much in demand as a voice actor. His voice roles included Shredder in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” series and James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the 1990s animated series version of “Iron Man.”
He most recently appeared in Zach Braff’s new film, “Wish I Was Here,” which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month.
But his most famous role was on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” which aired from 1990 to 1996.
The show, co-executive produced by Quincy Jones and created by Andy Borowitz and Susan Borowitz, cast Smith — then best known as a rapper — as a Philadelphia teenager who is sent to live with his wealthy Los Angeles relatives. As Banks, a former civil rights activist and Harvard Law-trained attorney, Avery provided a role model for Smith’s sometimes wild character.
Avery, too, leveled with youthful audiences, noting in “Unscripted” that he left home at 18 because “I had too good a time.”
In a 2007 interview with the New York Film Academy, he was forthright about his abilities.
“You can either be a movie star or an actor. I’m an actor,” Avery said. “(But) I’ve done pretty good.”
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Avery; his mother, Florence Avery of Atlantic City; and a stepson, Kevin Waters…
