Waddingtons, Hero Turtles Card Game 1990

Whilst hunting for treasure at the Fathers Day Car Boot sale I came across this gem. – The Waddingtons Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles card game!!!

Waddingtons used to distribute many major name board game licenses in the UK before they went defunct in 1994.

I had this card set for my birthday in 1990 and it was a favorite non-action figure TMHT item piece of my old fan collection. Nearly 25 years later I spent just £1 to buy this part of my childhood back and am happy to share it.

Sorry for the poor auto-cropping on some of these scans. I intend to post better scans of the full set artwork in a later entry Watch this space!

It’s coming, the show we’ve been needing to see in the states! BOSS KRANG is an art exhibit devoted entirely to that mush-mush brain from Dimension X, Krang!

Artist submissions are arriving from across the globe and we’re gearing up to have a wonderful show. There’s still time to submit and all inquiries need only send an e-mail to enzogarza@acme-superstore.com for further information.

The BOSS KRANG exhibit will begin April 25th and run two months. For those not able to attend the exhibit, be sure to join up anyways to ensure you catch all the updates and fantastic art on display! As well, joining the event will be the only way to be entered in to BOSS KRANG contests and access to the exhibit zine we’ll be producing for the show.

Now through March 15, Turtle fans can watch the special one-hour premiere Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, “Battle for New York” exclusively on Nick.com and the Nick App ahead of its on-air debut Sunday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. During the episode, Leo doesn’t trust Slash when he emerges leading a team called the “Mighty Mutanimals.” While the Mighty Mutanimals lay siege to the Techno Cosmic Research Institute, the Turtles must brave the bizarre world of Dimension X to save the enslaved people of New York.

Throughout March, Turtle enthusiasts can participate in “TMNT Mutation Madness,” an interactive bracket-style tournament that will give fans everywhere a chance to cast their votes in four rounds of mutant match-ups counting down to the Ultimate Mutant Champion. While Nicktoons airs mutant-driven Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes, the tournament starts online with sixteen mega-mutants including: Fishface, Spider Bytez, Tiger Claw, Slash, Bebop and Rocksteady, among others competing for the title of Ultimate Mutant Champion. As part of Nicktoons’ “Mutation Madness” each round, will reveal the brackets narrowing from 16 to 8 to 4 to 2, with the Ultimate Mutant Champion debuting March 23. Along with casting a vote every round, fans can enter special sweepstakes for prizes and unlock exclusive content to learn more about each mutant through bios, gifs, images and videos. ..

For more TMNT action, viewers can logon to Nick.com for full episodes, quizzes and games, including “Shadow Heroes” and the recently release, “Mikey’s Day Off.” In the new game, crime has taken the night off, but that doesn’t stop Mikey from relieving his boredom by sneaking around the turtle lair to throw paper balls at his bros.

During some **TOKKA INSTAGRAM perusing; i picked up some screen shots showing live packaged shots of the anticipated TMNT WACKY WOBBLERS. the famous head-bobbers that helped put FUNKO on the map. These should be hitting store shelves and online soon if not RIGHT NOW !! Keep an eye!! Also, last years intro of the ROTUND Articulated-NOGGIN “FABRIKATIONS” plush toys ( kinda like Plushie POP VINYLS) will get a fun looking wave of Retro Style TURTLE TEENS in the coming months. Licensing . biz :: Nick has had a healthy relationship LEGO Brands and MEGA BRANDS ( Mega Bloks), well know competitors in the BRICK TOY Biz. Lately ( past several months or so ) you’ve seen SPONGE BOB’s toy franchise shift from LEGO boxes to MEGA BLOKS packaging. Looks like it’s the TURTLES TURN.

Mattel teams with Nickelodeon for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mega Bloks. If you recall in the early 2000s the 4kids TURTLE show, early on had a licensing deal with MEGA BLOKS introducing the Teens to their first REAL Brick building toys. With this new deal, Nick’s TMNT make a stunning return to the brand !!
Over the next 72 hours or so, Toy Fair is gonna pouring more and more info out. Aggregating the most important TMNT info will be my goal for the next 48 – 72 hours +. Watch this space ..
