This set still sells pretty affordably ( most of the time it seems ..) at most third party vendors and at auction .

Along with the “FLASHBACK SHREDDER” , this Michelangelo set may have been amoung the very last sets made available in late 2014 before LEGO relinquished the TMNT licence to Mattel’s MEGA BLOKS brand.

ICYMI :: Way Post Toy Fair News & updates..

God, so much on the aggregate agenda today. So guys’ ..doin’ the best we can with so much crazy shtuff goin’ on.. But hey, as season 5, the final season of the Nick show as we’ve known it blasts into new episodes – but yeah, #ICYMI Toy Fair revealed important sneek peeks to wet fans’ appetites ( Usagi Yojimbo & Muckman anyone ?! ). Both TMNT 2012 show & non – – – -there’s more than enough TMNT diversity in to & merch purchases to appease almost anyone !! Mark Hamill’s popular KAVAXAS ( aka HOTHEAD remains speculative, Tokka has not thrown his hopes out tho.). From what i could tell – Mattel’s Mega Bloks brand did seem a little quiet on Ninja Turtles at Toy Fair but as we head into Spring and Summer – retailers tell a different story as harder to find product from earlier in the year is being re-released in some areas & the infamous **blindbag series 5 is due soon. We’ll see what the future holds for MEGA especially come SDCC 2017.

Nickelodeon “HISTORY OF TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES” FEATURING LEONARDO – ‘MOVIE STAR’ LEO (( 2015 ))

–>> This is the part in the set where things start to get really interesting. The notable differences on these repro Leo toys really stands out starting here. Varner’s original Sculpt has been modified at the feet, prolly due to display issues. Now with larger toes, missing scabbard & belt ( for some reason ), lack of paint compared to the detailed original release, and the bandanna piece on the noggin has swapped sides ( similar to the ’92 prototype ) compared to the ’92 figure. The plastic is harder also, the original had a softer "REAL FEEL" rubbery texture to the turtles head, arms, and legs.

These crazy “Movie Star” bootlegs have been littering auction sites and internet stores for months now. They are kooky as hell, but are not as BAD ( or as good ) as one would think. The nutty bootleg Movie Leo has some interesting qualities similar to reproduction that comes with the set, like the harder plastic and weird alterations.

** TMNT MEGA BLOKS are hitting online & brick n’ mortar retail right now.
The past 24 hours or so, Tokk’s been able to get a small sampling myself of a couple of blind bags and 2 collector’s sets featuring Donatello & Bebop in their MB Interpretation of their classic toon forms.
Off the cuff – – here’s what i’ll say :
Some speculation in some regards that these were going to be good especially post the LEGO releases – but over the years MEGA has turned their product into their own “thing”. While yes- still a main compatible, competitor to LEGO it’s my opinion that this new TMNT MEGA BLOKS product will offer a variation of play pattern for kids, collectors and families. It’s not too indifferent from the classic LEGO play pattern – but with a unique feel and twist on those patterns. These new sets are great and definitely have evolved from the classic 2004 MB releases. Here’s a quick gallery of what Tokka was able to get. ~ t

–>> What, the Kraang are cloning LEGOs now ?? Examining one of the infamous bootleg TMNT LEGO ( BootLEGO ) products – Sheng Yuan’s version of the Teens legendary enemy; The Shredder. Bootlegs are always of questionable quality; quality-control in general is out the window. This being my first Brick-toy related knockoff; i shall say that S.Y.’s is of "passable" quality. Not the high-standards of a LEGO mini-figure however. Still for a knockoff; at first it might fool the casual collector that this was an actual LEGO Shredder. But with bolder black-outlines on the chest and leg parts, slight face variations on the head, and NO official LEGO brand markings on items like Shredder’s hand claws, the cape is softer than the original release, and the hand claw blades are wider. After a bit – it’s really easy to tell you have a counterfeit.

Bootleg toy collecting is a whole other arena and i only have a handful of fake TMNT products. Online LEGO fakes can sell for pretty inexpensive prices. In this case – – a brick-and-mortar store ( or the like) , i did have to pay 10 bucks for the whole mini-set. That’s even more than many official LEGO polybag offerings. But i did know what i was purchasing. It’s interesting in these cases vintage or modern; one pays MORE money for an unlicensed and unofficial FAKE product than they would for the actual Licensed product.

With ALMOST official looking and colourful packaging these brick toys are ALMOST like the real thing. I can understand tho’; outside the BOOTLEG-NERD in Tokka clamoring for more SIMPLY BECAUSE because these are Sooooo fake – a poorer kid or parent purchasing these at a lower price as a substitute toy. For in some instances Official LEGO products might be TOO expensive.

Some collectors also collect the knockoff equivalent of various exclusives minis offered by LEGO such as Con-exclusives that post their initial offering at a convention ..their prices will SKY-ROCKET come a third-party seller offering them.
That is if the U.S. Customs or an equivalent agency office doesn’t confiscate them first.

I presume all the game cards are randomly packed. These are the cards i received with the SHREDDER set. The KRAANG set i received later also came with two different cards.

..softer cloth material is used for the knockoff Shredder cape. The official cape is a stiffer material.

Toys “R” Us, Comic and Specialty shops will be getting theirs soon. Remember, the TMNT Minimates are individually blind bagged and the exclusive look to be be 1 per case. Related notes:: Welp, the last quarter of the year blew by pretty, and here we are ( love it or hate it ) on the big HARD-COPY release day of one of the most talked about movie in the TMNT film pantheon – and even just as far as comic-book films from the past few years.

I’ll try to break down as many of the North American releases as i can as far as basic editions and the exclusive editions that are just do darn popular with the major blockbusters nowadays with the major retailers.

The basic retail versions on the Kmart site i think will represent the same basic offerings and similar pricing structure at other retailers as well as at Kmart. Keep an eye on this post is i learn of any major changes to exclusives offered or any additional exclusives that may be present that i have not listed here yet. I hope this list will help you narrow down your choices, and pick the best viewing option, price and premium content that’s right for you and your family. :

This incredibly popular art was made specifically made for B & N and you prolly recognize it from in-store displays promoting TMNT products around the time of the release of the film this past August. The clincher is that i am unclear if this was / IS a Pre-order/online exclusive or if the Poster will be available for pick-up if purchased in-store. I beleive it’s the prior and you had / have to order it on the site. I hope i’m wrong. There is no info on B & N’s website at moment about this. I will look into this and update accordingly, but any info anyone can share will be appreciated. I presume, soon – we will see these posters at auction from 3rd part sellers on places like ebay. Again i will look into this.

The Amazon Exclusive; Raphael statue Gift Set (Blu-ray 3D + DVD + Digital HD) should be ordered soon, if you with for a Christmas time delivery. The site still lists this set at $69.99.

TOYS R’ US is offering TMNT Earbuds along side the masks in their combo-pack exclusives.

These are the first North American release of the same “LEGO & brick toy COMPATIBLE” figures sold in the TMNT 2″ Mini-Fig blind Bags overseas in such places like Australia – but this four pack DOES NOT include the collector cards that come with the bags.

The Shredder mini-fig is available at TRU as well as an exclusive with the purchase of ** The Nick TMNT “THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” DVD set.

The figures with the cards, Splinter, Kraang Droid, and the Foot Soldier mini figs are not available yet in North America just short of purchasing directly from overseas or thru’ a third party vendor.

Dogpound & Fishface mini-figs were spied at TOY FAIR 2013 as part of an apparent wave 2.

If you are not so much worried about the collector cards, and just want the figures of the Teens themselves without the guessing, stress and spending lots of money on the blind bags, this may be your best & direct way to get these minis. And if you get them with the video game, you’ll prolly be saving even more money.
