October’s Toy Fair announcement of Mattel’s MEGA BLOKS brand returning to retake over the TMNT building toy license ( after over a decade ) was a disappointment to many LEGO fans. However, once everyone saw the NEW Turtles MEGA BLOKS product, MANY WERE BLOWN AWAY at the Mini-figs, accessories and building environments encompassing 3 distinct incarnations of the teens Nick’s insanely popular Ciro Nieli produced TMNT, the more kid-centric HALF SHELL HERO line, and the CLASSIC ’80s TMNT cartoon show.

SMYTH’S UK shop has a peek at the impressive first wave of Blind Bag offerings of the Turtle mini-figs featuring the Teens, a Crimson Shredder, Kraang Droid, and a basic Foot Soldier ( Look LEO comes with a SPACE HEROES comic book !! ).

Suspecting these will make it to a North American release as well to parallel the larger box releases, no guarantees – – but Tokka predicts an affordable price range of $ 3 – 7 like the similar “CALL OF DUTY” ,HALO , ,MINIONS, HELLO KITTY, “Sponge Bob Squarepants” blind bags currently available & the past few years.

–>> The preceding piece was done just out of pure kindness by Stan Sakai and for gratis. My favourite works of ALL from Stan are mostly his Yokai Monsters. Being a mysterious entity encountering Usagi and fowling up his travels, or a life & death – one on one battle with a deadly entity of ancient Japanese myth .. ..no one can recreate them in two dimensions quite like Stan. This is the second Kappa he’s ever made for me.

The piece was created last July at SDCC after me personally delivering my submissions for the Sakai Family auction EXTRA INTAKE – extra pieces were taken in after the initial round of auctions to raise additional funds, via **CAPS & ***C.A.F.

The submissions included two Tokka “bootleg” pieces, one featuring Usagi’s famous Mutant Turtle friends & an illustration of one of the Ronin’s deadliest & legendary Enemies – LORD HEBI !!

Please keep tabs with up CAPS on FB if you can for the latest updates on the Sakai Family fundraising and new awesome USAGI YOJIMBO art to add to your collection !! .

I do apologize but Tokka cannot guarantee, at this point – – the availability of the above pieces at this point ( they may have already gone to auction ) but will keep you posted if i am alerted on anything new in regards to the submissions.

PLAYMATES updates the Basic Fig roster : Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter-Fly, Karai & the Mystic TMNT.
Nick’s much anticipated Bebop & Rocksteady on card appear courtesy of Instagram user Trevino32 ..due this month ( .. first at Walmart stores, other outlets later ). It appears that Bebop has two variants for collectors to geek out while on the lookout; light and darker shades of brown paint on the punk-pig. Rocky’s weapons are a little humorous. There’s also a cute, up-close look at the Bax-Fly and Slash Half-shell Hero offerings. Keep your eyes peeled for the ugly muggs !! !!

These are the first North American release of the same “LEGO & brick toy COMPATIBLE” figures sold in the TMNT 2″ Mini-Fig blind Bags overseas in such places like Australia – but this four pack DOES NOT include the collector cards that come with the bags.

The Shredder mini-fig is available at TRU as well as an exclusive with the purchase of ** The Nick TMNT “THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” DVD set.

The figures with the cards, Splinter, Kraang Droid, and the Foot Soldier mini figs are not available yet in North America just short of purchasing directly from overseas or thru’ a third party vendor.

Dogpound & Fishface mini-figs were spied at TOY FAIR 2013 as part of an apparent wave 2.

If you are not so much worried about the collector cards, and just want the figures of the Teens themselves without the guessing, stress and spending lots of money on the blind bags, this may be your best & direct way to get these minis. And if you get them with the video game, you’ll prolly be saving even more money.
