If you haven’t already been tracking it, the cover art for Gobbledygook #1 as well as a set of the books are currently up for auction on Heritage. As of this post, the art is auctioning for about $5,400. However, that isn’t the surprise.
Currently the copies of Gobbledygook #1 and #2 are selling for approximately $9000 collectively. With two days left on the auction, this already smashes what the books have typically gone for in the past (usually around 3-5k for the set). These numbers can be attributed to the fact that this is the first time the books have appeared on a high profile auction site such as Heritage. The books also come with documented providence from Kevin Eastman, which isn’t typical.
It will be interested to see how many sets pop up for sale following this auction.
