Wow, it has been WAY too long since I last posted here. tOkKa, you have been such a trooper keeping this site going, and I thank you sincerely. I’m sure our readers feel the same way. 🙂

“TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS” is the sequel to the 2014 hit film “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.” The film is based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman and is directed by David Green (“EARTH TO ECHO”). Michael Bay (the “TRANSFORMERS franchise) returns to produce alongside his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (“ TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES”), with Galen Walker and Scott Mednick (“TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES”) also producing.

Also returning for the sequel is Megan Fox (“TRANSFORMERS”) as April O’Neil, Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”) as Vernon Fenwick and the Turtles: Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Pete Ploszek at Leonardo, and Jeremy Howard as Donatello. Rounding out the cast is Stephen Amell (“Arrow,”) as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry (“GONE GIRL”, the “MADEA” franchise) as Baxter Stockman, Academy Award nominated actress Laura Linney (“The Big C”, “LOVE ACTUALLY”) as Chief Rebecca Vincent, Brian Tee (“JURASSIC WORLD”) as Shredder, WWE World Heavy Weight Champion Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly as Rocksteady and Gary Anthony Williams (“THE INTERNSHIP”) as Bebop.

MondoCon 2015 :: Tokka - "FEAR BEAR" meets MIKE MITCHELL

In case ya been “buzy” ( like Tokka ) and in case you missed it all  — we’ve been slammed with toy news this month between Austin’s MondoCon & NYCC ’15.

The cool kids at Toyark have us covered on the imperative bits from NYC ::

 

Here’s a quick look at some shots we caught of MONDOCon ’15 & the Toy display of Mondo’s new Classic Comic 1/6 scale TURTLES figures.

The display was slightly different than the past summers SDCC ’15 Mondo booth with the Comic Casey mask and Mouser figures absent, but a new UTROM figure popped up with a T.C.R.I. canister. One would wonder if this is one of Mondo’s exclusive accessories for one of the next Turtle offerings.

Hero’s first ever Fan-art. (1990)

Over the years, I’ve lost various bits and pieces of my Ninja Turtles collection. I lost mostly comics and collections of various artwork I drew in celebration of my favorite halfshell heroes. .

This is why I am proud that I still have the first ever TMNT Drawing I produced in 1990 at the age of 12 during ‘8th Grade’. Despite being 26 years old, going through various home moves and survived a bottle of aftershave being spilled on it (the smell has gone now!) I have been able to immortalize this for more to see.

firsteverRaph1Ninja Turtles back then for me was at times more of a closet thing. I was dictated to by peers and adults that 12 was not an appropriate age to be liking ‘this sort of thing’. I defied that Status Quo, but at times hedgehogged away with my love of drawing and these characters – just to keep the peace from the ‘populars n plastics’. There is only so many times one can serve detentions and suspensions.

Pop Culture that many years ago seemingly wasn’t as accepted as it is today. Looking back, I can’t help but be smug about also being told I would grow out of ‘this sort of thing’ in the next 20 years.

So, I proudly showcase once again my simple ‘from reference’ illustration of Raphael popping up from the ‘Manhatten’ Sewers. I am just as proud of the Ninja Turtles brand today as I was back then, only without the occasional ‘hedgehogging’.

Sorry for the delay in content the past week or 2, i was recently dealing with hospital issues and real life drama  and it did set me a bit behind on the news, i shall amend that with this and upcoming posts. We’ll start with Movie related bits and the like.

During the episode, Leo doesn’t trust Slash when he emerges leading a team called the “Mighty Mutanimals.” While the Mighty Mutanimals lay siege to the Techno Cosmic Research Institute, the Turtles must brave the bizarre world of Dimension X to save the enslaved people of New York.

Throughout March, Turtle enthusiasts can participate in “TMNT Mutation Madness,” an interactive bracket-style tournament that will give fans everywhere a chance to cast their votes in four rounds of mutant match-ups counting down to the Ultimate Mutant Champion.  While Nicktoons airs mutant-driven Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes, the tournament starts online with sixteen mega-mutants including: Fishface, Spider Bytez, Tiger Claw, Slash, Bebop and Rocksteady, among others competing for the title of Ultimate Mutant Champion.  As part of Nicktoons’ “Mutation Madness” each round, will reveal the brackets narrowing from 16 to 8 to 4 to 2, with the Ultimate Mutant Champion debuting March 23.  Along with casting a vote every round, fans can enter special sweepstakes for prizes and unlock exclusive content to learn more about each mutant through bios, gifs, images and videos.  ..
