“An update from the folks at*** Diamond Select Toys reveals that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates are now available at Kmart stores. Toys “R” Us, Comic and Specialty shops will be getting theirs soon. Remember, the TMNT Minimates are individually blind bagged and the exclusive look to be be 1 per case. Here’s the entire breakdown, including the specific store exclusives:

Related notes:: Welp, the last quarter of the year blew by pretty, and here we are ( love it or hate it ) on the big HARD-COPY release day of one of the most talked about movie in the TMNT film pantheon – and even just as far as comic-book films from the past few years.
I’ll try to break down as many of the North American releases as i can as far as basic editions and the exclusive editions that are just do darn popular with the major blockbusters nowadays with the major retailers.
The basic retail versions on the Kmart site i think will represent the same basic offerings and similar pricing structure at other retailers as well as at Kmart. Keep an eye on this post is i learn of any major changes to exclusives offered or any additional exclusives that may be present that i have not listed here yet. I hope this list will help you narrow down your choices, and pick the best viewing option, price and premium content that’s right for you and your family. :
- KMART:: The no frills and least expensive, TMNT Movie DVD – no premium it would appear, no masks, just the disc.
- The standard Blu-ray ( B-R,DVD, Digital Combo set ); each one of these sets – -it does appear that they include the reversible mask premium. If you are wanting this promotion; i would double-check the packaging to make sure the masks are in there. I presume the packaging will be labeled accordingly.
- The 3-d Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital set is the priciest of the retail versions ( about $40 ) and while i’m not 100% sure – it does appear to offer no exclusive premiums.
The Target Exclusive offers you one of 4 different covers to choose from of your favourite Turtle Teen and apparently some exclusive content. I’m not sure if you receive the masks with these sets, i presume you DO.
Walmart’s exclusive includes 4 Mini-Turtle figurines and the masks in a gift set. The Figs i think were originally going to be part of a theater promotion.
Best Buy’s Combo set includes special STEELBOOK packaging and the masks.

“Pre-Order Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and receive a 16″x20″ poster featuring artwork by Turtles creator Kevin Eastman with your order. While Supplies Last. ” This incredibly popular art was made specifically made for B & N and you prolly recognize it from in-store displays promoting TMNT products around the time of the release of the film this past August. The clincher is that i am unclear if this was / IS a Pre-order/online exclusive or if the Poster will be available for pick-up if purchased in-store. I beleive it’s the prior and you had / have to order it on the site. I hope i’m wrong. There is no info on B & N’s website at moment about this. I will look into this and update accordingly, but any info anyone can share will be appreciated. I presume, soon – we will see these posters at auction from 3rd part sellers on places like ebay. Again i will look into this.
The Amazon Exclusive; Raphael statue Gift Set (Blu-ray 3D + DVD + Digital HD) should be ordered soon, if you with for a Christmas time delivery. The site still lists this set at $69.99.
TOYS R’ US is offering TMNT Earbuds along side the masks in their combo-pack exclusives.
Again i’ll keep this list updated as time progresses and i learn of new offers, premiums and exclusives in North America.

“NINJA TURTLES” Movie :: SHREDDER { tOKKustom MOVIE MANIAC } (( 2014 ))

–>> Neither movie accurate nor inaccurate;Varner Studio’s 2014 MOVIE shredder represents earlier ILM designs for Saki’s armor. One of the more talked about elements of the new film, thankfully this Shredder would reflect ‘somewhat’ more traditional incarnations of the character – if not an amalgam of many earlier incarnations.
Like VARNER’s Foot Soldier in the line, the final look of the manufactured figure may not represent the final look of the characters depicted onscreen, however with some effort and modification ( and imagination ) one CAN amazing things with these toys to better reflect the images in the actual film.
Presented here is a Shredder not entirely accurate to the film, but perhaps a blend of those earlier designs Varner Studios worked off off for the villain and a color scheme & wash similar to the effect of the final version of the Samurai inspired armor. Along with some original elements Tokka added to enhance the toy.
The studded cape of the figure is not present in the live-action portions of the film. However the illustrated / animated intro during Splinter’s voice-over features Shredder flanked by some armed Foot Soldiers. That image DOES feature a studded cape on Saki. From a certain point of view: the figure in reality emulates the early concept work for Saki, Eric Sacks mentions in the movie “upgrades” to the armor Shredder dons in the live-action. Retconning these facts in the movie, the figure hypothetically could be featuring an earlier version of Shredder’s armor PRE- the upgrades made by Eric Sacks and his crew.
Tokka’s presentation also gives a nod to a late great movie-inspired toy-line of the late 1990s & early aughts.

“KAPPA II” for tOkKa by Stan Sakai (( 2014 ))

–>> The preceding piece was done just out of pure kindness by Stan Sakai and for gratis. My favourite works of ALL from Stan are mostly his Yokai Monsters. Being a mysterious entity encountering Usagi and fowling up his travels, or a life & death – one on one battle with a deadly entity of ancient Japanese myth .. ..no one can recreate them in two dimensions quite like Stan. This is the second Kappa he’s ever made for me.
The piece was created last July at SDCC after me personally delivering my submissions for the Sakai Family auction EXTRA INTAKE – extra pieces were taken in after the initial round of auctions to raise additional funds, via **CAPS & ***C.A.F.
I do apologize but Tokka cannot guarantee, at this point – – the availability of the above pieces at this point ( they may have already gone to auction ) but will keep you posted if i am alerted on anything new in regards to the submissions.

PLAYMATES updates the Basic Fig roster : Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter-Fly, Karai & the Mystic TMNT.- Nick’s much anticipated Bebop & Rocksteady on card appear courtesy of Instagram user Trevino32 ..due this month ( .. first at Walmart stores, other outlets later ). It appears that Bebop has two variants for collectors to geek out while on the lookout; light and darker shades of brown paint on the punk-pig. Rocky’s weapons are a little humorous. There’s also a cute, up-close look at the Bax-Fly and Slash Half-shell Hero offerings. Keep your eyes peeled for the ugly muggs !! !!
