Update: Season Two Premieres Oct. 12th @ 11am

Hello, fellow Machines!

We finally have the first two episodes for the new season! TVGuide has provided our first sneak peek clip, as well as other insight on upcoming characters:

Gotta catch em all! You can really see how much the animation's improved this coming season

The premiere appears to be an hour long special called “The Mutation Situation”. Looks like it’s going to be raining ooze canisters all over New York, which is the start of a FLOOD of new mutant critters gallumping through the Big Apple… some familiar names and some new faces!

“Joining the cast this season is Josh Peck (Drake & Josh), who voices teenage hockey player Casey Jones, a rebel who enjoys taking on the bad guys. TMNT also stars Sean Astin (as Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo), Jason Biggs (Leonardo), Mae Whitman (April O’Neil), Hoon Lee (Master Splinter) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Shredder). Corey Feldman recurs as Slash.”
~ TVGuide

The second episode is going to be what seems to be a bit of an Alien homage called, “Invasion of the Squirrelanoids”.The mutagen madness makes it way into the sewers, and creates some hellishly scary lil woodland creatures. Or maybe this is just what Splinter looks like getting up on the wrong side of the bed…

We’re gonna have a great opening to the new season, so gather your friends, kids, parents, fellow turtle fans, plant your butt cannons on the couch and start the countdown!

(I have no idea if this clip is actually part of this episode, but I couldn’t resist…)

( *Notes: This particular copy was offset in publishing just a bit and is cut off, many of the pages inside are crooked. However 98% of the original cover is still intact.

This was the first of several, gorgeous full-color wrap-around covers Mirage would pull off in many Mirage labeled comics and reprints. Unfortunately, current IDW reprints ignore the wrap-arounds of the original counterparts in their TMNT COLOR CLASSICS series. Most of those covers are stripped of the original colours, digitally re-coloured, and any book originally with a wrap-around just has the front cover and an ad on the back. Some of those covers are even cropped. So basically you are getting half the art or less, and sub-par reproductions of the cover art when the originals were so timeless and cool. ;/

The first (and only) issue of Fugitoid was Mirage Studios’ first comic book to feature a full color cover.

The Original "FUGITOID #1" iii // 'TOID VOID' logo (( 1985 ))The story begins as Dr. Honeycutt is working on his Mentawave Helmet, a telekinetic device that the scientist has invented. The doctor’s experiment with the helmet is interrupted by a telecom call from General Blanque, who berates Honeycutt for not getting any work done on the Transmat device. The General informs Honeycutt that he will be arriving at 1500 hours and he expects to see some results. Dr. Honeycutt laments the General’s desire to turn the teleportation device into a weapon, and wishes that he could be like his mindless worker robot, Sal, but quickly rationalizes that if he were, he wouldn’t be able to create his inventions.

Honeycutt begins his experiment anew and manages to move a plant with his mind. The doctor is ecstatic and then discovers something even more fantastic – the Mentawave Helmet allows him to pick up Sal’s thoughts! Apparently the robot is in some kind of duress, he’s been entangled in some cables outside and can’t get loose. So the good doctor goes out to free his assistant. As Honeycutt works at getting Sal unstuck from the cables, a downpour begins. The inventor helps the injured robot up and they head back to the base laboratory when they’re struck by lightning!

When Honeycutt awakes from the trauma, he finds that his mind has been fused into Sal’s electronic brain! Doctor Honeycutt is now trapped inside of Sal’s metal body. Be careful what you wish for, eh?

To make matters worse, General Blanque shows up with some troops and finds Honeycutt’s dead body. They determine that the robot Sal must have killed its master, and so they begin firing at Sal/Honeycutt. The doctor tries to explain, but the soldiers continue firing and he is forced to flee, thus becoming the Fugitoid.

While the soldiers chase the Fugitoid through the woods, Blanque searches the lab for clues. He finds Dordogne’s taped reports and learns the truth. The General decides that this is a great boon, as he can now force the robotic Honeycutt to do his bidding and create the Transmat as a weapon. Since robots have no rights, Honeycutt won’t be able to protest or prevent how the Transmat is utilized once the work is completed.

General Blanque orders his men to capture the robot in working condition, which doesn’t please the men, as it makes their work “twice as hard.” Meanwhile, the Fugitoid has met a group off huge, sentient and telepathic crustaceans who hide him from the humans. Once the men have left, the crustacean who concealed Honeycutt tells him to flee to the city Peblak, where he’ll be safe from the soldier’s sensors. The Fugitoid agrees that this is a good plan and heads off to the city, thanking his new friends for their help.

Meanwhile, the soldiers report back to Blanque about their failure to capture the Fugitoid. The General orders them to wait at the lab to see if the robot returns, and then heads off in a shuttle to his home base. All the while Blanque fantasizes about becoming the most powerful man in the universe once he has the Transmat in his hands.

The Fugitoid makes it to the city junkyard, but is captured by some robot scavengers. General Blanque is back at his base leading the mission to locate Honeycutt. His trusted assistant, Lonae, asks him why the robot is so important and the General confides in her the powerful military potential of the Transmat and his desire for it. Lonae then heads to the alleys of the city and sneaks into a darkened building. It turns out the Lonae is a drug addict who sells military information to the Triceratons to get her fix!

The Fugitoid is sold at an auction. As his new owner is taking him to a hovercar, Honeycutt makes his escape. The Triceraton who buys the information from Lonae now knows about the Transmat and he realizes how it could help his people win the war against the Federation. The saurian alien then proceeds to kill his non-Triceraton assistant and Lonae (via poisoned drugs) so he can be sure that there are no information leaks regarding the Transmat.

Honeycutt is now seen fleeing from troops through a crowded market. The Fugitoid is cornered by the soldiers when suddenly four figures emerge from thin air… four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures!

NEWTRALIZER :: TRUELY The Meeting of 2 Creative Minds

"NEWTRALIZER" simple modified vec.gif

–>> NEWTRALZER introduced late in the first season  of the Nick TMNT has been gaining much fan attention as of the past few months. **Animation information from NICK only graze the surface of a little more complex situation in bringing this character to the screen.

☠ ☠

As you may or may not know  THE ORIGINAL NEWTRALIZER was a rejected 1990 TMNT toy concept PLAYMATES threw back at Mirage’s Main-ZANY MAN ; RYAN BROWN. Here’s Ryan’s original character premise for the RUDE-NEWT ::

“Amphibious ally of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Newtralizer is judge, jury, and executioner for any criminal that crosses his path.
Unable to undergo regeneration due to a messed-up mutation process, Donatello has fitted him with robotic limbs.
With these new, artificial appendages and an arsenal of wacky weapons, this salamandroid sheriff fights a never-ending battle against the criminal Krang Korporation of Dimension X and helps to serve and protect the turtle’s sewer home!

.. .. Playmates would show up at the studio they usually brought along a list of popular characters and concepts that they wanted to exploit as TMNT figures.
“Judge Dredd type character” was on the list. Newtralizer was my response.

** Ryan Brown

It could be argued that Nick’s Newt is an entirely separate character. This rejected design concept would later be remixed, re-imagined, and reintroduced with elements based off Ciro Nieli’s iluustrations from when he was younger, drawing very similar character ideas when he was a kid. Nick’s TMNT animation crew had at it. NEWTRALIZER appears for the first time as a Kraang eating threat & slightly enigmatic enforcer as you see in Donatello’s big JAIL BREAK as he and the Teens rescue April’s Dad from the KRAANG’S big underground prison.

As you also prolly know, FINALLY ..very soon, Newty is getting his own toy. So This isn’t a about just some character that popped up out of nowhere or because it was a rehash of a throw-away character or what have you.

No, Newtralizer is a very SPECIAL character and the the combination & amalgamation of creative forces & ideas lead by the imaginations of two very important people within’ the TMNT-pantheon. Not just a rejected idea or some school boy’s school day scribblings. He’s a special idea and character that’s been in the making for well over 20 years by two very mutually creative minds who as it turns out, those individual artists are very fond & respectful of eachother’s work.

Cool, huh !!

An interesting, controversial, suspicious and speculative bit on Digger’s THE OTHER DEAD ::

“The creators of “The Other Dead” are three heavy-hitters in the comic industry: Joshua Ortega (Gears of War), Digger T. Mesch (Agent 88), and Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). The cover is also the work of a well-known comic book illustrator, Dave Dorman.

Suddenly, though, there’s a hitch in the publisher’s plans to release the comic on the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on America, and you’ll never guess why: a moth infestation.”

Rest easy with the TURTLES.** TMNT  DREAM LITES @ TRU **

..of note, an interesting & weird Turtle license as of late are the uber-cute and ‘RETRO’ styled Turtle DREAM LITES assortment. TMNT & Hello Kitty apparently are among the first licensed franchises to be adapted to the popular “starry night-light” stuffed animal assortment. Interesting how they utilize the ‘Retro’ styling to the mainly children’s product. H’m ..what a great way for kids and adult TMNT fans to bond; and maybe even to provide some comfort from the dark for the littlest of fans ( or nerdiest of MEGA-FANS   >;B  ..   j/k ).
