Party & Paper Retailer,v.XXIX NO.1 // “TURTLES RULE!” ..mailing cover (( January 2014 ))

“** Party & Paper Retailer is a national multimedia business magazine and website that provides the latest products and trends for the party, Halloween, costume, balloon, bridal and celebrations industries.”
–>> This actually is a mailing-label ‘alternate cover’ .. a removable piece of paper gently applied to the regular cover of the magazine. The real cover has a “JAZZY JEZEBEL” on it; a lovely “flapper” girl in a semi-risque 1920s – style costume.
Rubie’s Costumes among other companies feature in the magazine. Rubie’s acquired the TMNT License a little over a year ago as you may have seen as recently as this past Halloween. They also feature this “HALLOWEEN & PARTY EXPO” trade-ad spread with all their current and upcoming licenses for costumes and the like.

This past Thursday; **KidROBOT released these teaser images via their ***facebook page ; so it would appear that KR has acquired the Nick TMNT license for vinyl toys and the like to add too their diverse Designer Artist, comic, and T.V. show licenses.
I’ll try to keep up with this as i can for you, for obvious reasons. Pretty exciting !!

–>> .. i’m convinced Falco’s figure is a really decent interpretation of your favourite Rodent Sovereign. But you know the drill with Playmates; to keep costs low – so to sometimes on these figures paint apps will look different than how you may expect or different than their prototypes, or may be totally eradicated from some portions of the figure altogether. Rat King had a little bit of this issue going on as you may recall. –

THE RAT KING
TELEPATHIC COMMANDER OF THE RAT ARMY
Cold-Blooded and deceitful, formerly known as Dr. Falco. The Rat King is determined to rid the city of humanity and claim it for his rat brothers. He is able to see through the eyes of rats and control them with his telepathic powers. Destined to take down the Turtles, the city should be wary of the one called The Rat King.

There’s no rule stating you can’t take matters into your own hands to make your new toy better. Some light metallic spray paint misted on, a simple black acrylic paint wash and some careful painted details on his rodent minions, and R.K. starts to look much filthier and a bit better. Hopefully a little bit creepier too.

Works perfectly for the Rat King so he can see his way thru’ particularly darker corridors of the sewers n’ catacombs of NYC.

In recent days; ** Toy News International ** has posted a small barrage of TMNT ’14 PLAYMATES toys,LEGO and FUNKO paper crafts. ::
- As you can see, Hi-rez images of RAHZAR’s prototype are out adding to the line-up of Kirby, Squirrelanoid, and Mutagen Man for Season 2 related figures due in the coming weeks.

- TMNT LEGO Line-up includes the first ever LEATHERHEAD & Karai Brick Toys !!
- FUNKO BOXOS TMNT Papercraft Playesets !!
- Still no sight of MOVIE related toys — we’ll keep ya posted. They are due out in the coming year to tie into the new movie and everyone is very nervous.

This is a TMNT “creature feature” fan film with practical effects. The way you remember it.

Short Summary
- With your help I will shoot a fan film featuring most of the more popular characters. The film will be shot on digital but the creatures will use real animatronics. Most of the characters will be guys in suits with some puppets and marionettes like the original films we all love and remember.
The Story
- The story revolves around an epic battle that Raphael and Casey Jones have with Bebop and Rocksteady. As the fight ensues, more characters join the fray until the battle ends with an inter-dimensional standoff.
What We Need
- We need 30,000 dollars to finish the creatures and build animatronics. We also need to cover minimal productions costs as well post production.
What You Get
- Prop Replicas used in the film such as : The Casey Jones Mask and The Shredder Helmet to name a few.
- This film will be made regardless. Any funds raised will be used solely for the production and the production only and ALL backers will receive their perks no matter what.
The Impact
