“I’ve been self-publishing cereal:geek magazine since the beginning of 2007. It is a 100 page glossy magazine (with NO ads) dedicated to showcasing the cartoons of the eighties. The writers and artists that contribute to cereal:geek bring with them exclusive content (none of this material has been printed in any other media before).

Issue two was originally published in the second quarter of 2007 and has been out of print ever since. As only 1000 copies were originally printed it is incredibly hard to obtain. So here I am, seeing if Kickstarter is a viable means to see if there is a demand for issue two…and maybe at the same time introduce some new people to the world of cereal:geek!

Issue two covers the subject of magic and science throughout the cartoons of the eighties. The main article covers many shows including Dungeons & Dragons, He-Man, She-Ra, Thundarr the Barbarian, and ThunderCats, detailing how each of them utilized magic and science to tell their stories. Jack Olesker reveals how he balanced magic and science on The New Adventures of He-Man. Another article explains how after the sci-fi-heavy first season of The Transformers the show began to delve into the realm of magic. Visionaries and Centurions (both overlooked shows) are covered. And Robert Lamb explains how magic and science worked during his time on He-Man and She-Ra. Aside from those lengthy articles there is also an in-depth history of the much-celebrated animation studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha, the changes found in MASK’s season two are highlighted, the Top Ten cartoon transformations are listed, the Rocky films are reworked as an animated series, the love triangle in the Jem series is questioned, a page full of Galaxy Rangers trivia is featured, the amazing origin story of Smurfette is revealed, and much, much more! Other shows covered include Defenders of the Earth, Galaxy High School, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Thunderbirds 2086.” .. ..

Still decent holiday prices on TMNT: Complete Classic Series Collection ??

–>> During the CYBER WEEK deal madness, Tokka managed to snag Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Complete Classic Series Collection for a good price of 59.99 which included shipping.

While that cyber deal is over, looking back online for more deals for Hannukah and the rest of the holiday season on the Lionsgate Super release i have found 3 decent deals on the set well under the SRP of about 99 bucks. ::

I’ll let everyone know if i fond more deals on this much wanted set in case fans out there are still struggling to get it a decent price ( ****or let me know if you find a better price point to help your fellow fans out !! -tOkKAb2@terrible2z.com ) .

BUYER BEWARE :: Look, this release is awesome..but KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING HERE !!

This is a great set if you’ve never purchased an official release hardcopy of the classic series, getting this as a gift for a fan, or if you are a hardcore fan and loving the cleaver Turtle Van packaging !!

But what this really is IS a fancy repackaging of every single TMNT Original Series DVD that has come out from 2004 – 2012.

So if, like many fans i know ..you have purchased each LIONSGATE release religiously since 2004 and can do WITHOUT the fancy packaging .. you actually ALREADY HAVE THIS ENTIRE SET !!

Also unfortunately the ***Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legend of the Supermutants OVA anime ( part of the original TMNT show continuity ) is not included in this set .

“FISHFACE” by STEVE LAVIGNE (( 2012 ))

In Wells, Tokka immediately put Steve to work sketching out a portrait of his new buddy Xever, a.k.a, FISHFACE from the new Nick Turtles show!!

Eastman’ & Laird’s ol’ Buddy was the first real artist they went to back in the day when TMNT really started branching out in popularity just before the Teens’ phenomenal “CARTOON BOOM”.

As one the Mirage Alumni’s longest illustrators, colorists, inkers, letterers & creators .. Steve’s contribution to TMNT as well as the arts is almost infinitesimal.

Even a good majority of the classic style guide on so-called “RETRO” branded TMNT merchandise from T-shirts to shot glasses to boxer shorts seen to this very day are responsible from this man ( the powerful team of BROWN / LAVIGNE ).
